New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray is in Delhi to meet the top brass of the INDIA opposition bloc, which continues to lurch from one existential crisis to another – the latest being the BJP thumping the AAP in Delhi, and Sharad Pawar felicitating Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. On NCP boss Sharad Pawar’s actions, the junior Thackeray refused to be drawn, telling reporters, “I will not talk about (that)… it is our (the Sena faction now led by Uddhav Thackeray) to never honour a person like this (Mr Shinde) … (who) not only split our party but also Maharashtra’s spine…” On the INDIA bloc picture, though, Mr Thackeray said he met the Congress’ Rahul Gandhi last night and will meet AAP boss Arvind Kejriwal later today. Chief Minister Atishi has managed to hold on to south Delhi’s Kalkaji seat despite the BJP’s massive victory in the national capital and shock defeats of top Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders. The 43-year-old leader, who won the seat in 2020, was up against BJP’s former MP Ramesh Bidhuri and the Congress’s Alka Lamba. An Oxford University alumnus and a Rhodes scholar, Ms Atishi has worked extensively in the AAP’s flagship exercise to overhaul education in Delhi’s schools before she was elevated to the top post. Atishi became Chief Minister after AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal stepped down after he got bail in a corruption case linked to Delhi’s now-scrapped liquor policy. When Mr Kejriwal and his Number 2 Manish Sisodia were behind bars, Atishi articulated the party’s position at party events and media interaction.  Delhi Assembly Election 2025 Live Updates: The counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections will take place today, deciding whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secures a fourth consecutive term or if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stages a comeback after more than 26 years. The Congress, which has faced two consecutive electoral defeats, is also looking to make modest gains in the high-stakes contest. Vote counting will commence at 8am across 19 counting stations spanning 11 districts. Shahdara, Central Delhi, East, South, and Southwest districts will each have one counting center, while North, West, Northeast, and Southeast districts will have two each.
