PM Modi inaugurated Majlis Park – Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) and Deepali Chowk – Majlis Park (Magenta Line) corridors of Delhi Metro. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated two new Delhi Metro corridors, providing better connectivity to several areas of the capital. These projects of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), worth over Rs 18,300 crore, are aimed at providing accesible and feasible public transport to commuters. The two new corridors are the Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) corridor of around 12.3 km and the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line) corridor of around 9.9 km. Several areas of Delhi, including Burari, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Madhuban Chowk, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Bhalaswa and Majlis Park will be benefited through this new route. Delhi to Switch Eighty Percent of Bus Fleet to Electric Vehicles by 2025, CM Says

Eighty percent of Delhi’s bus fleet will run on electric by 2025, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday, asserting that acquisition of e-buses will go a long way in reducing pollution in the national capital. Sharing a roadmap for procurement of electric buses, he said the government will be buying 1,500 such buses in 2023 and by 2025, 6,380 electric buses will be procured. “We have 300 electric buses now. Delhi has 7,379 buses plying on its roads currently which is the highest number of buses plying on the roads in the last 75 years. New buses were not purchased for many years and we were also questioned over it,” he said at a ceremony at the Rajghat Depot to flag off 50 electric buses. Out of the 7,379 buses, more than 4,000 are being operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation and over 3,000 through the DIMTS, he said. Delhi Government Said to Use DMRC Electric Bus Fleet to Improve Last-Mile Connectivity

Delhi government will soon take over the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) electric bus fleet to strengthen the last-mile connectivity across the city. The Delhi Cabinet recently took the decision to take over 100 existing E-buses and also operate additional 380 feeder E-buses under the transport department in 2023. DMRC has been operating feeder E-buses in East and North clusters since December 2019, from Shastri Park and Majlis Park depots. Now, these buses will be run by the transport department through Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS). In addition, for the operation of additional 380 electric buses, six stations have been identified – Welcome, Kohat Enclave, Rithala, Nangloi, Mundka and Dwarka. DMRC will be constructing the bus depots at these locations. The transport department shall operate all these feeder buses per a kilometre basis, which means the operators will be paid by the distance covered during the day. The proposal comes as a part of the recommendation provided by the Route Rationalisation Study conducted by the transport department. In October, the first phase of the …
