3 min readNew DelhiUpdated: May 29, 2026 04:33 PM IST DU Admission 2026: The University of Delhi (DU) has implemented a new one-time correction process for students who are applying for postgraduate admissions via the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-PG) 2026 website. During the admission process, this feature will help candidates to update and make corrections. The facility is available on the admission portal of the Delhi University PG Admission Portal. It will focus on helping candidates change or correct their category-related information, which was previously submitted through the application form of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG), 2026. The website is automatically integrated using the Application Programming Interface (API), which is provided by the National Testing Agency through API Setu, clarified the university. Though now a provision is also introduced on the portal of CSAS-PG 2026, which will enable candidates to submit the updated category details as necessary. A 19-year-old Delhi University first-year student from Jaunpur alleged that she was drugged and gang-raped repeatedly over four days in a rented room near a private hospital in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf city police station area. She told police that one of her acquaintances convinced her to get off the train at Charbagh railway station, promising to drop her there after they spent time together in Lucknow, while she was travelling from Jaunpur to Delhi on May 15. The Supreme Court on Friday refused to grant bail to a student accused of inciting violence during the industrial workers` protest in Noida on April 13. A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan asked the counsel appearing for Aakriti Chaudhary to approach the Allahabad High Court. “Why don`t you go to high court ? Everybody comes here by filing petition under Article 32 of the Constitution. There are 93,000 cases pending in the Supreme Court,” the bench observed. The counsel appearing for Chaudhary submitted that grounds of arrest were not given by the police to the accused and sought bail. He told the apex court that Chaudhary is a student of Delhi University. The top court also issued notice to police officials on a plea filed by one Keshaw Anand alleging torture by Uttar Pradesh police officials. Teachers and students of Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL) have written to the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university expressing “sincere concerns” over the ongoing controversy over alleged offensive content in SOL’s study material for Bachelor’s students of political science. “We write to express our sincere concerns about the defamation of our institute,” the representation, sent to the VC last week, says. “We…strongly condemn and oppose any material which mentions abusive, oppressive and negative terms for women and Ambedkar.” It adds, “We completely stand together united against any person who writes or expresses such thoughts.” Disciplinary proceedings are currently underway against Saripalli V Ravikiran, an assistant professor at SOL, who is accused of including allegedly erroneous and offensive content in the study material. Delhi University’s executive council (EC) on Wednesday decided to set up a committee to examine a proposal for introducing a “Semester Away Programme” (SAP), which would allow students to spend one semester of their degree at a Foreign Higher Education Institution. The SAP programme, aimed at providing undergraduate students with global exposure, is part of the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022, approved by the academic council earlier this month. According to a press note, the committee, to be headed by Dean of Colleges Balram Pani, will consult all stakeholders. For years, graduates of the University of Delhi’s Master of Operational Research (MOR) programme have found themselves caught in a technical bind — holding a degree that, despite its academic rigour and industry relevance, was not in the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) approved degrees list. Now, the univister is mulling renaming the programme, The Indian Express has learnt. The Department of Operational Research, said sources, has formally proposed that the “Existing Nomenclature: Master of Operational Research” be revised to “MSc (Operational Research)” under the Faculty of Mathematical Science, a title already recognised by the UGC. The issue is particularly striking given the legacy of the programme, which was launched in 1963. At the time, the students — following completion of the programme — were given an MSc degree. However, after 2019, the current title was adopted even as it was not in the approved degrees’ list as notified by the UGC vide Gazette Notification of 2014. Two colleges under Delhi University – Ramjas College and Miranda House – were evacuated on Monday morning after they received bomb threat emails, news agency ANI reported citing Delhi Police. Delhi College receives a bomb threat, authorities conducting search ops (Representative ) The bomb disposal and dog squads were rushed to the campuses and are currently conducting searches of the premises, the report added. More details are awaited. The latest threat comes just days after a similar email was sent to the Delhi mayor’s office last Wednesday.
