The university aims to commence the new academic year on July 21, as stated by university officials on Wednesday, following the announcement of the CUET-UG 2026 results. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) serves as the single-window entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programmes in most central universities, including Delhi University. DU Registrar Vikas Gupta informed that the university is in the final stages of preparing to launch the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. “We want to start the academic session tentatively on July 21,” Gupta said.  “We are just doing a final check of the portal and the required details. The portal will tentatively open by this week itself,” he added. Candidates who have applied for the two-year post-graduation course and have been offered a seat in the second round have to pay the fees within the deadline to confirm their seats. The deadline for seat acceptance is June 24, 2026, while the payment deadline is June 27, 2026. According to the university, 2,964 fresh allocations have been made for the second round under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for the postgraduate programme. The round two allocation has been made live on the post-graduation admissions portal. Apart from the minimum score required for the allocation in various courses are also published on the official website of the university. The university also mentioned that from candidates who have secured their admission in the first round, 3,399 students have opted to freeze their allotted seats. During the admission process, this feature will help candidates to update and make corrections. The facility is available on the admission portal of the Delhi University PG Admission Portal. It will focus on helping candidates change or correct their category-related information, which was previously submitted through the application form of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG), 2026. The website is automatically integrated using the Application Programming Interface (API), which is provided by the National Testing Agency through API Setu, clarified the university. Though now a provision is also introduced on the portal of CSAS-PG 2026, which will enable candidates to submit the updated category details as necessary. A 19-year-old Delhi University first-year student from Jaunpur alleged that she was drugged and gang-raped repeatedly over four days in a rented room near a private hospital in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf city police station area. She told police that one of her acquaintances convinced her to get off the train at Charbagh railway station, promising to drop her there after they spent time together in Lucknow, while she was travelling from Jaunpur to Delhi on May 15. The Supreme Court on Friday refused to grant bail to a student accused of inciting violence during the industrial workers` protest in Noida on April 13. A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan asked the counsel appearing for Aakriti Chaudhary to approach the Allahabad High Court. “Why don`t you go to high court ? Everybody comes here by filing petition under Article 32 of the Constitution. There are 93,000 cases pending in the Supreme Court,” the bench observed. The counsel appearing for Chaudhary submitted that grounds of arrest were not given by the police to the accused and sought bail. He told the apex court that Chaudhary is a student of Delhi University. The top court also issued notice to police officials on a plea filed by one Keshaw Anand alleging torture by Uttar Pradesh police officials.
