Data from the Central Pollution Control Board showed that by 4 pm on Wednesday, Dehradun’s AQI stood at 294. Dehradun’s air quality deteriorated over the past two days, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) slipping into the “poor” category and approaching “severe” levels at night. Dehradun’s real-time AQI on Wednesday hovered between 260 and 300, worsening significantly after sunset. This comes as Delhi continued to grapple with ‘very poor’ air quality, recording an AQI of 328 on Wednesday morning despite a slight improvement from 377 a day earlier, with smog and fog reducing visibility across large parts of the national capital. Delhiites Spend Most Time At Work, Gender Disparity Highest In UP: Report

New Delhi: People in Delhi spend more hours at work or on activities related to their employment than in any other part of India, according to a new report by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. In India, an individual, on average, spends 455 minutes, or a little over 7.5 hours every day on work-related activities. The figure rises sharply for people living in Delhi, where an individual spends 571 minutes, or nearly 9.5 hours, every day on activities related to work, the Time Use Survey report said. The activities related to work also included time spent on going to and returning from the workplace. Among other states, people in Haryana spend 493 minutes or 8.2 hours at work, while the number dips marginally to 484 minutes (around 8 hours) for employees in Tamil Nadu. In Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, people spend around seven hours on employment-related activities, the report said. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched an online portal, aapkibachat.com, on Sunday, allowing Delhi residents to calculate their savings from the free welfare schemes provided by the AAP-led government. Announcing the launch at a press conference, AAP national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said, “For the people of Delhi, we are introducing this new portal where they can check how much they are saving through our free welfare schemes, such as free electricity, free water, and more.” Kakkar claimed that the AAP-led Delhi government helps residents save a minimum of Rs 25,000 per month through these initiatives.
