The French grandmaster made the comments in a conversation on the Chess with Mustreader YouTube channel, where he also accepted that his opinion about Pragg was a bit of a “hot take”. Vachier-Lagrave started his tier list by pointing out that he did not “discount anyone” winning the title, pointing out that if the Candidates were held 25 times with the same set of players, all of the eight players would win the event at least once. In a recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has unveiled the BCCI Central contracts for 2025-26 season, where stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been demoted to Group B. The Indian sports governing body has released the list of 30 men and 21 women were announced on Monday. Meanwhile, the BCCI had removed the category of A+ grade and only three cricketers – Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been placed in Group A. Meanwhile, the Grade B category will include Washington Sundar, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya. India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma and batting talisman Virat Kohli retained their place in the A+ bracket, while the previously axed duo of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan returned to the fold in the list, consisting of a total of 34 players across categories.
