Twenty six-old-year Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Sasrali Colony in Ludhiana’s Meharban, was among the second batch of deportees who landed at Punjab’s Amritsar International Airport from the United States, late on Saturday. A graduate, Gurwinder is the son of a Punjab Police officer. As soon as he returned to Ludhiana, Gurwinder was detained by the local police for verification. He has past criminal record, police said. “Gurwinder was booked in two FIRs for alleged snatching and theft. He got bail in 2022, but we are verifying if he is wanted in any other case,” inspector Gurpreet Singh, SHO, Meharban police station, said.
