According to official sources, four people were apprehended by the Nedumangad police in Chullimanoor late on Thursday in connection with a dispute over a football match. The group, found to be carrying iron rods, were subsequently lodged in the lock-up at the police station. A 42-year-old Bangladeshi national has been arrested in Assam’s Hailakandi district on charges that he illegally entered the country to meet his wife and daughter, police said on Tuesday.
