More than 50 police personnel and over 50 protesters were injured after clashes broke out during the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) ‘Chalo Sansad’ march in New Delhi on Monday, reported the PTI. According to police sources, the confrontation began after some protesters allegedly threw stones at security personnel. Police responded with a baton charge to disperse the crowd. Both injured protesters and police personnel were taken to hospitals for treatment. Delhi Police detained more than 100 protesters from several locations across the New Delhi district, including Parliament Street, Patel Chowk, Constitution Club, Shastri Bhawan and nearby areas, the news agency reported. According to official sources, four people were apprehended by the Nedumangad police in Chullimanoor late on Thursday in connection with a dispute over a football match.
