How India’s seamers froze South Africa in chilly Dharamshala | Cricket News

If it had been India’s batting that had let them down in the second T20I in Mullanpur earlier this week, it would be their bowling that stood up to the task of proving the 51-run hammering in Mullanpur as being nothing more than an anomaly. In their show of all-round dominance – a seven-wicket victory to take a 2-1 series lead in the five-match series – the hosts delivered a response fitting of the No. 1 T20 side in the world, defending world champions gearing up for a title defence at home. Snow has only yet touched the peaks of the Dhauladhar mountain range that overlooks this picturesque stadium – robbed, an inch, of its serenity in the nighttime – even as North India braces for a harsh cold wave. Evening temperatures were hovering around 10 degrees, adding a layer of cold weather not quite seen for T20 games in these parts. The overwhelming expectations were that this would be a batting paradise, given the HPCA Stadium’s reputation of being a high-scoring ground for limited-overs …

IND vs SA Today Match Dharamshala Weather Forecast & Updates

IND vs SA 3rd T20 HPCA Stadium Pitch Report: India and South Africa will lock horns at the Dharamsala stadium with the conditions offering several challenges to both teams in the biting December cold. Armed with extra skins and a counter to the new ball attack from the pacers, the batters can make merry with high scores, a lush outfield and a lightning-quick ball coming to their aid. ALSO READ |India’s T20 challenges: Cold Dharamshala, hot South Africa HPCA Stadium Pitch Report The last T20I at the venue was played on successive days in February 2022. While India have found success on both of those nights against Sri Lanka, it can be said in all fairness that the square remains a belter. The high-altitude conditions also come to the favour of the batting side in the picturesque setting with the ball bound to ping faster off the bats. That would not still discount the fast bowlers who could make most of the chilly conditions early on. High scores north of 200 were the norm during the …

Shukri Conrad insists South Africa ready to negotiate Dharamshala’s dew factor: ‘The hard work’s been done’ | Cricket News

South Africa are ready to deal with the dew if they need to during their third T20I against India in Dharamshala, head coach Shukri Conrad has said. Dew has played a pivotal role in the limited overs leg of South Africa’s tour of India thus far in ODIs and T20Is and it could continue to be the case in the cold climes of Dharamshala. While it gave a clear advantage to teams batting second in the ODI series, dew has generally made life difficult for bowlers overall in the five-match T20I series thus far. “We did a lot of work before the series, bowling with a slightly wet ball during the ODIs,” said Conrad. “The hard work’s been done.” Dharamshala is known to be a high-scoring ground but Conrad said that South Africa won’t fee any pressure to score big because of this if they are batting first. “Sometimes you come to a high-scoring ground and think you need a certain mark and get yourself into trouble. We’ll adjust our game to whatever conditions we …

India’s T20 challenges: Cold Dharamshala, hot South Africa | Cricket News

The build-up to the third T20I between India and South Africa on Sunday does not start in Dharamshala. Instead, it begins about 50 km away at the bottom of Kangra, before the wide highways make way for the narrow roads that traverse the hillside, where several billboards, big and small, welcome the cricket-mad tourists to the “most beautiful stadium in the world”. While it is the life-sized face of Anurag Thakur, former BCCI president, sports minister and BJP MP, that adorns the promotional posters, the travelling fans will hope to have stills of gleaming India team players on the postcards from this picture-perfect cricket ground. The team itself will be hoping to put down the 51-run mauling from the visitors in Mullanpur on Thursday as nothing more than an aberration. To do so, though, they will have to counter the unique conditions that will be thrown at them in the shivering cold weather, as the snow-capped peaks of the Dhauladhar mountain range stare down upon them. Questions are being asked about the form of some …
