Dinesh Kumar is one of India’s most accomplished lawn bowlers and has established himself as an experienced player in the sport. His biggest career achievement came at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he won a silver medal in the men’s fours event alongside Sunil Bahadur, Chandan Kumar Singh and Navneet Singh. The Indian team finished runners-up to Northern Ireland in the final. The silver medal was India’s first-ever Commonwealth Games medal in men’s lawn bowls and played a significant role in bringing the sport in focus. Early Life Hailing from Jharkhand, Dinesh Kumar serves in the Jharkhand Police, balancing his sporting career with his professional life. Born on June 16, 1977, he took up lawn bowls as the sport began to emerge in the state after its introduction in 2006. He is associated with the Bowling Federation of India.
