The Delhi high court on Saturday stayed the Directorate of Education (DoE) decision to advance the constitution of school-level fee regulation committees (SLFRCs) to decide fees for three academic terms, beginning 2026–27. Documents needed for admission to entry level classes The documents mentioned below will serve as valid proofs of address which will be needed at the time of admission: 1. Ration Card/Smart Card issued in the name of the parents 2. Domicile certificate, either of the child or the parents 3. Voter ID (EPIC) of any one of the parents 4. Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill/Passport carrying the name of either parent or the child. 5. Aadhaar Card /UID card that has been issued in the name of either of the parents. The problem escalated notably during the post-Covid period, with reports of annual fee increases ranging from 25 per cent to 30 per cent, it said. “Many parents have also alleged coercive practices by schools, including denial of admit cards for board examinations and threats to strike off names of students over non-payment of what they describe as unauthorised fees,” the DoE said. The Directorate of Education (DoE) has issued notification for admission to EWS category students in the Academic Year -2024-25 in the private schools of the national capital, Delhi. As per the notification, the registration will start on April 30 and will conclude on May 15, 2024. Parents of aspiring students can apply for the same on the official website of DoE at edudel.nic.in. It is important to note that the private schools in the national capital are mandated to reserve 25% of their seats for students of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), disadvantaged groups, and children with special needs (CWSN). NEW DELHI : Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Monday approved the proposal for revival of 1,027 posts of vice principals in the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education for the vacancy years 2014-15 to 2019. “In a move aimed at ending adhocism and contractual appointments, Saxena has approved the revival of 1,027 posts of vice-principals in DoE. These posts of vice principals would have been abolished automatically for the reason that they were not filled within the prescribed time limit,” a statement from the LG office said. It said that the Delhi education department is already running with an acute shortage of vice principals and that the vacant posts were filled on an ad hoc and contractual basis by the DoE. As per earlier Recruitment Rules (RRs), 100% posts of the vice principals were supposed to be filled in through promotion, wherein the cadre of the vice principals changed from Group ‘B’ gazetted to Group ‘A’ gazetted and the mode of selection also changed from 100% through promotion to 50% by promotion and 50% through …

Given improved weather conditions, all schools in the national capital will open at their normal time from Tuesday i.e. February 6, 2024, the Directorate of Education, Delhi government said on Monday. “In view of the improved weather conditions in Delhi, all Govt., Govt. Aided and Recognised Private Schools of Delhi shall resume their full normal timings wef. 06.02.2024 (Tuesday),” Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS Director (Education) said in a release. Here are some points to keep in mind before applying for admission.
