Trespasser Rang Doorbell Of Actor’s House, Told THIS To Security

Last Updated:May 23, 2025, 08:56 IST Two people entered Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai on May 19th and 20th, respectively. Woman who entered Salman Khan’s house illegally has been identified as Isha Chhabra. In two separate incidents, a man and a woman tried to enter Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence earlier this month. While they were taken into custody and further investigation is underway, CNN-News18 has now learnt that the woman, identified as Isha Chhabra, had entered the building by telling security officials that she knew a resident there. However, after entering Galaxy Apartments, she headed to Salman Khan’s house and rang the doorbell. Salman Khan was said to be in the house when the security breach incident took place. In the preliminary investigation, Isha has claimed that she does not know the man who also trespassed Khan’s residence, a few hours before her. Meanwhile, police officials are also likely to question the residents of Galaxy Apartments soon to check if they know Isha. For the unversed, Isha entered Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai …

Hue accidentally leaks a new video doorbell

Hue accidentally leaks a new video doorbell

An update to the Philips Hue app this week appears to have leaked a new Hue Secure video doorbell, reports Hueblog. The unannounced product shows up in a section offering instructions for adding devices that you have no QR code for. From the screenshots below, taken in the iOS Hue app by my colleague Jennifer Pattison Tuohy, the Hue Secure doorbell is a straightforward video doorbell — tall, rectangular, and with what looks like a large button inside of an LED circle. As of this writing, the app still shows it on my phone. I could only get so far in the instructions before hitting a wall, but there are details to glean. That includes that it might be a wired device, thanks to mentions of low-voltage errors and a need to “physically install” the camera before setup. It also uses both Bluetooth — for setup, at least — and Wi-Fi. Hueblog writes that the camera isn’t expected to launch until this fall, so it could be a while before pricing or camera specs are …

Apple Developing Smart Home Doorbell With Support for FaceID and Third-Party Locks: Report

Apple Developing Smart Home Doorbell With Support for FaceID and Third-Party Locks: Report

Apple will delve into the smart home market as it looks for new growth opportunities next year, according to a report. As part of its efforts, the Cupertino-based technology giant is said to be developing a smart home doorbell that will have FaceID support, enabling users to scan their face to gain entry, much like the iPhone. For enhanced functionality of the purported device, Apple may turn to other third-party smart lock makers or even tie up with a single specific company. Apple Smart Doorbell In the latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman detailed Apple’s smart home efforts. The iPhone maker is reported to be working on a smart home doorbell system that will have advanced facial recognition, which wirelessly connects to a deadbolt lock. Apple already offers several third-party smart home locks on its online store but this is said to be its first-ever proprietary offering. It is speculated to work on the same HomeKit protocol and may support other third-party locks. With this move, the company may surface as …

Apple is working on a doorbell camera with Face ID

Apple is working on a doorbell camera with Face ID

Apple is working on a new smart doorbell camera that uses Face ID to unlock your door, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in today’s Power On newsletter. The camera could be released by the end of 2025 “at the soonest,” Gurman writes. The lock would work just like your iPhone, automatically unlocking your door when you or another resident looks at it. Like biometric login info on other Apple devices, the camera would be equipped with the company’s Secure Enclave chip that stores and processes Face ID information separately from the rest of the system’s hardware. Gurman writes that this device will “likely” work with existing third-party HomeKit smart locks and that the company may also partner with a smart lock company “to offer a complete system on day one.” He expects the camera will make use of Apple’s in-house “Proxima” combination Wi-Fi / Bluetooth chip that’s rumored for new HomePod Mini and Apple TV devices next year. This doorbell camera joins a broader collection of rumors surrounding a renewed Apple push into the smart …

The best video doorbell cameras

With a smart video doorbell, your front door’s communication skills go from 1980s landline to a modern smartphone. Combining a motion-activated camera with a microphone, speaker, and doorbell, a doorbell camera sends alerts to your phone to show you who’s calling without you having to open the door or even be at home. Whether you’re curled up on the couch, hard at work in your office, or sunning on a beach in the Bahamas, a smart doorbell camera keeps you in touch with what’s happening on your doorstep. I’ve tested more than 30 video doorbells, and while there’s no one-size-fits-all — like a smartphone, it’s a personal choice — I have thoughts on which are the best of the best and which work well for specific use cases. What I’m looking for A nice design This is on your front door, and it needs to look good and / or blend in. Affordable (or free) video recording All video doorbells must offer a live feed, but a cloud or local storage option for video recordings, …

Eken fixes ‘terrible’ video doorbell issue that could let someone spy on you

A company that manufactures video doorbells found by Consumer Reports to contain serious security vulnerabilities has issued a fix, the consumer advocacy group is reporting. Eken Group has issued a firmware update for the affected security products under its own name, as well as those from other brands it has licensing deals with, including Fishbot, Rakeblue, Tuck, and others. All the video doorbells use the Aiwit smartphone app and could be purchased from popular online retailers like Amazon, Shein, Temu, and Walmart.  Back in February, CR reported that it found vulnerabilities in Eken-produced video doorbells that “could allow a dangerous person to take control of the video doorbell on their target’s home.” Gaining access to the doorbell didn’t even require any level of hacking knowledge: bad actors could simply download the Aiwit app, go to their target’s home, and hold down the doorbell’s button to pair it with their own smartphones, change their Wi-Fi network, and take control of the device.  Additionally, anyone with the doorbell’s serial number could remotely view still images from the …

This ‘Amazon’s Choice’ video doorbell could let just about anyone spy on you

Does your video doorbell look anything like the one in the picture? Perhaps you bought it for cheap at Amazon, Temu, Shein, Sears, or Walmart? Does it use the Aiwit app? Consumer Reports is reporting the security on these cameras is so incredibly lax, anybody could walk up to your house, take over your doorbell, and permanently get access to the still images it captures — even if you take control back. The cameras are sold by a Chinese company called Eken under at least ten different brands, including Aiwit, Andoe, Eken, Fishbot, Gemee, Luckwolf, Rakeblue and Tuck. Consumer Reports says online marketplaces like Amazon sell thousands of them each month. Some of them have even carried the Amazon’s Choice badge, its dubious seal of approval. Yet Amazon didn’t even respond to Consumer Reports findings last we’d heard, much less pull the cameras off its virtual shelves. Here’s one of them on sale right now. Shopping app Temu, at least, told CR it would halt sales after hearing just how incredibly easy they are to …
