Twisha Sharma death case: Husband Samarth Singh sent to seven-day police remand

A Bhopal district court on Saturday sent Samarth Singh, husband of model-turned-actor Twisha Sharma and the prime accused in her alleged suicide case, to seven days of police remand. Singh was produced before the court amid tight security, a day after he was taken into custody from Jabalpur. Before being brought to court, he was taken to Jai Prakash (JP) Hospital for a mandatory medical examination under police supervision. He was later escorted to the district court in a heavily guarded convoy. A large police deployment was made at the court premises to manage the crowd and prevent any untoward incident amid growing public attention surrounding the case. Singh was produced before Judicial Magistrate Anudita Gupta under tight security. He was brought to court at around 3.15 pm, following which the court granted police custody remand for seven days.
