A 29-year-old woman died by suicide on Thursday in Bengaluru after her 11-month-old child accidentally drowned in a bucket of water, police said. Preliminary findings suggest the baby had drowned in the bucket,” said deputy commissioner of police N Yetish. Police said the woman was in shock and blamed herself for the incident. Later in the day, she died by suicide at the house. Police said there were indications that she had attempted self-harm before taking the step. According to police, the transgender person, identified as Irshad Asif Shaikh (22), and Kalandar Altaf Khan (20)— both residents of Nargis Dutt Nagar in Bandra (west) — were engaged in an argument on the creek bridge located between Mahim and Bandra.
