Stebin Ben, Panther create a storm at SRCC’s fest Crossroads 2024

At the de facto finale of the Delhi University (DU) fest season — Shri Ram College of Commerce’s (SRCC) Crossroads — lines to the campus snaked all the way up to Miranda House on one side and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College on the other. Among those trying to put good old jugaad to try and gain entry, was Sahil Jain, a final-year student of Ramjas College. “My brother, who also studied at the North Campus, before the lockdown, would always tell me about how grand the SRCC fest always was! Delhi University tells colleges to install CCTV ‘in front of ladies’ washrooms, dressing rooms’ during fests

The Delhi University has directed its colleges to install CCTV cameras outside women’s toilets and changing rooms during fests. The advisory has come following an incident in which some women were secretly filmed while changing in IIT-Delhi. Besides, the varsity has asked its colleges and departments to install CCTV cameras at all gates of the institutes and hostels to avoid any mishaps. DU College mandates course on Bhagavad Gita for staff, teachers dissent “After recommendations by the Delhi Police, we have made relevant additions to fest guidelines in view of the recent incident at IIT-Delhi. We have asked colleges to make CCTV arrangements in front of ladies’ washrooms and dressing rooms during fests for the safety of students,” DU proctor Rajni Abbi told PTI news agency. In October 2023, about 10 students of Delhi University’s Bharti College complained that they were secretly filmed while changing in an IIT-Delhi washroom during a fashion show at the institute’s fest.
