Delhi PWD shifts to more ‘durable’ precast drain boxes for stormwater system| India News

The Public Works Department (PWD) has initiated a new construction approach for storm water drains across Delhi, mandating the use of precast drain boxes in place of the conventional cast-in-situ method, an official aware of the development said on Saturday. Precast drain boxes improve durability, reduce construction time, and minimise on-site pollution. HT PHOTO The shift is a part of an ongoing citywide drain remodelling exercise aligned with the drainage master plan, under which 20 tenders have already been floated. Work has commenced in Shalimar Bagh and is expected to expand to other parts of the city in phases, the official said. C Raja Mohan writes | Resilience and patience helped Delhi weather Trump’s tariff storm. India-US partnership is structurally sound, durable

The finalisation of the India-US trade deal this week brings to a close a turbulent year in bilateral ties and clears the way for Delhi and Washington to focus on the broader agenda outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump at their White House meeting on February 13, 2025. The two leaders had emphasised the importance of a quick trade deal and called for deeper cooperation in defence industrialisation, critical and emerging technologies, and strategic coordination in the Indo-Pacific. The trade deal announced by the two leaders on social media on Monday needs to be formalised, and there are several elements that will need to be fleshed out to mutual satisfaction. Complex negotiations and imaginative diplomatic work lie ahead in putting the bilateral commercial ties on a high and sustainable growth path. If Trump was incredibly tough and transactional over the last year, Modi displayed resilience — tempered by patience — in weathering the tariff storm. Delhi neither capitulated nor escalated. Instead, it opted for quiet, persistent engagement. The durability of the …

Steadier Hands, Durable Companies to Steer Crypto in 2023, Predicts Circle CSO

Multiple crypto companies collapsed or filed for bankruptcy by the end of 2022 amid an ongoing global economic slowdown. Despite the upheaval, industry analysts are confident that the downturn filtered out shaky and evidently risky firms from industry that is already suffering from volatility. Steadier hands and more durable companies will be participants in the crypto sector, Dante Disparte said in a recent post for the World Economic Forum (WEF). Disparte is the chief strategy officer of Circle, the issuer of USD Coin. Between 2022 and 2023, the overall crypto sector lost over $2 trillion (roughly Rs. 1,65,74,700 crore). The Russia-Ukraine war, the recession that followed the COVID-19 pandemic, repeated hack attacks, and the collapse of promising crypto projects like LUNA and FTX slashed investor engagement in the sector. While companies like CryptoCom and Binance among a number of others resorted to trimming their respective work forces, firms like BlockFi, Celsius, and Voyager Digital filed for bankruptcy. “Policymakers who have been sounding an alarm about crypto’s excessive risks, while failing to create sensible regulations, have …
