NEET-UG 2026 paper leak: Judicial custody of 10 accused extended till July 11

A Delhi court on Monday extended the judicial custody of 10 accused in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) until July 11. The accused were produced before the Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing after the expiry of their earlier period of judicial custody. The court extended the judicial custody of Yash Yadav, Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Dhananjay Lokhande, Tejas Harshad Shah, Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, Manisha Sanjay Havaldar, and Dr Manoj Shirure till July 11. Court allows continued investigation Earlier, on June 15, the Rouse Avenue Court had extended the judicial custody of the 10 accused till June 29. The court had also permitted the CBI to interrogate accused Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, and Dhananjay Lokhande inside the jail on June 17, 18, and 19, respectively, for one hour each as part of the ongoing investigation. Civic authorities in Maharashtra’s Beed district on Tuesday began the demolition of an under-construction building allegedly linked to retired professor P V Kulkarni, who has been arrested in connection with the NEET paper leak case, reported the PTI. The Beed Municipal Council initiated action against the four-storey structure located in the Shahunagar area after it was found to be in violation of local building regulations. NEET-UG case: Court extends Hawaldar`s CBI custody by 2 days, Mandhare remanded

A Delhi court extended the CBI custody of accused Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar by two more days and remanded another accused, Manisha Mandhare, to 14 days` judicial custody in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. Special Judge Ajay Gupta passed the order while hearing the CBl`s plea seeking further custodial interrogation of the accused. The agency told the court that Hawaldar, empanelled as a physics translator by the National Testing Agency (NTA), had allegedly conspired with others to unauthorisedly retain and distribute the NEET-UG question paper for monetary gains. Special Public Prosecutor V K Pathak submitted that Hawaldar`s custodial interrogation was necessary to identify other persons allegedly involved in the conspiracy and to further investigate the case. Opposing the plea, Hawaldar`s counsel argued that she had been arrested on May 22 and had cooperated with the investigation, contending there was no need for further police custody. Damoh, Madhya Pradesh: In what may turn out to the one of the most audacious education scams in Madhya Pradesh, twin sisters secured teaching jobs in separate government-run schools, using the same name and the same BA marksheet, which belonged to one of them.  For 18 years, both drew salaries, taught children and remained undetected.  Each sister earned more than Rs 80 lakh during their fraudulent tenure, amounting to a combined haul of Rs 1.6 crore.  The matter came to light only when both applied for a job transfer to the same school, triggering suspicion of the Education Department.  The department suspended one of the sisters-Rashmi, the wife of Deependra Soni.
