After Akshay Kumar, Emraan has signed on the dotted line to play the significant role of veteran actor, singer, director and producer Mehmood in the much-awaited project. The R.D. Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of its release. The examining committee reportedly directed the makers to implement nine modifications, following which a UA 16+ certificate was granted before its theatrical release on August 14. The film will be clashing with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947. The board reportedly implemented changes like toned-down violence, muted expletives, and the addition of anti-drug, anti-smoking and child trafficking disclaimers.
