Samajwadi Party has ended contract with I-PAC due to fund constraints: Akhilesh Yadav

He dismissed speculations that the termination of contract was because of recent election results. Addressing a press conference, Mr. Yadav said the party had engaged I-PAC for a brief period ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections but could not continue the arrangement. “Yes, we had an association. They worked with us for a few months, but we are not able to continue because we do not have that kind of funding,” he said. The I-PAC is a political consultancy firm known for managing major election campaigns across the country. Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor has also been associated with the organisation in the past and has worked with multiple parties, including the BJP and the Congress. Harikrishnans: Why Mohanlal, Mammootty should have ended up together and let ‘poor’, ‘delusional’ Juhi Chawla live in peace | Malayalam News

The first time we see Mohanlal and Mammootty on screen in director Fazil’s Harikrishnans (1998) is after the 15-minute mark. The first act is over, and the inciting incident has taken place. Up until that point, we don’t hear their characters’ names even in passing. In fact, the opening act almost makes one wonder if it’s a children’s film, as it revolves solely around Ammalu (Shamlee), an 11-year-old girl who has arrived in Ponnur for vacation, and her friends. But that’s the brilliance of Fazil, one of the most daring commercial filmmakers in Malayalam cinema history. He never took the beaten path, nor did he follow formulas. While others desperately tried to replicate his films, believing they could use the same ingredients and cook up hits, he simply kept doing his job and (unknowingly) led the way. How Rinku Singh found runs, form and ended Kolkata Knight Riders’ winless streak | Cricket News

Synopsis: Rinku Singh roars back to form as Kolkata Knight Riders end winless streak Chasing 150-plus on the Eden Gardens deck typically favours the batsmen, but with KKR’s batting line-up blowing hot and cold, it was always going to be a tricky affair. The hosts almost made a meal of the chase but a seventh-wicket partnership between Anukul Roy and Rinku Singh enabled their first win of the season When Anukul joined Rinku in the middle, Kolkata were already six wickets down with the latter looking rickety. The KKR vice-captain wouldn’t even be there if Nandre Burger had not dropped him on eight. But as the match raced towards its climax, shouts of ‘maar Rinku maar’ rippled from the stands. He duly obliged. The 19-run 16th over turned out to be the turning point. Both Rinku and Anukul slammed sixes, slashing the target down to 40 from four overs. Rinku continued the rampage, slapping Jofra Archer for two fours in the next over before Anukul brought down the equation to 9 off 6 in last …

In an interview, Akshay revealed that his parents had nearly lost him shortly after his birth. ‘I became unconscious’ In a conversation with HT City, Akshay Kumar recalled that he was born after his parents prayed for a “naughty child” at the Vaishno Devi temple. He shared, “My mother and father prayed at Vaishno Devi, asking for a child. They specifically requested, ‘Give us a child, but let him be naughty.’ And a year later, I was born.” After his first birthday, his parents decided to return to Vaishno Devi to thank the goddess for blessing them with a child. However, things took a drastic turn during the journey. Akshay continued, “My parents took me along, but on the way, I suddenly fell very ill. I had a high fever, first 103°F, then 104°F, and I became unconscious. The doctor in Katra advised them to take …

How Zaheer Khan’s long search for slower ball ended in India winning 2011 World Cup | Cricket News

How Zaheer Khan’s long search for slower ball ended in India winning 2011 World Cup | Cricket News

Zaheer Khan tried to bowl the back-of-the-hand slower ball for years. It wouldn’t come. His action didn’t allow it. His body didn’t allow it. He tried the Brett Lee variation—keeping everything behind the ball but slowing the wrist at release, not breaking it. His arm speed dropped visibly. Batsmen picked it. Out of the window. He tried the split-finger slower one, the delivery Dilhara Fernando used to bowl. He spoke to the Sri Lankan pacer about it. “I realised he just had the advantage of being flexible. The length of the fingers was fine, but the flexibility—in my case, it wasn’t there.” He tried Charl Langeveldt’s version — fingers bent on the seam, reducing speed without changing arm speed. “That was also not working because I was not able to grip it properly.” Four variations. Four failures. Each one tried honestly, understood technically, and discarded without sentiment. The journey, as he describes it, was not about finding a trick. It was about finding the trick his body could perform. “I had my own version of …

On this day: India ended Australia’s World Cup dominance in 2011 classic | Cricket News

3 min readMar 24, 2026 07:57 PM IST On March 24, 2011 the Indian cricket team did the unthinkable: the Men in Blue defeated a rampaging Australian cricket team in an ODI World Cup to end their campaign to win a fourth Cricket World Cup title on the trot. Australia arrived at that Ahmedabad quarter-final with a formidable record: they were unbeaten in 14 matches at a World Cup, a run which had seen them win the titles in the 1999, 2003, and 2007 editions. Their record was made even more envious by the fact that they had not lost a knockout game in the tournament since 1999. Batting first, Australia scored 260/6 in 50 overs. The bulk of that total was scored by Ricky Ponting, who scored 104 runs off 118 balls. But no other Australian batter managed to cross fifty. Yuvraj Singh returned with figures of 2/44 for India’s bowling, while the rest of the attack took wickets at regular intervals to restrict the Australians from taking off. MS Dhoni said in the …
