Four for the future: A Sreejesh protege, versatile defender, goal-happy midfielder and an energetic forward | Hockey News

The most intriguing outcome of any junior global event is the surge of promising youngsters who could step up to the senior teams. From the 2025 edition of the men’s FIH Junior World Cup, where India finished with a bronze medal, here’s a look at four players who could potentially transition to the main squad in the months or years to come. Princedeep Singh (GK) The No 16, who started as a defender but then took up goalkeeping after being inspired by PR Sreejesh, has emerged as a genuinely serious contender for the senior team between the posts. Krishan Pathak’s form hasn’t inspired much confidence in recent times, and head coach Craig Fulton will have a serious headache when he picks the squad for the Pro League matches in February based on Pawan’s performance at Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and Princedeep’s heroics at JWC. With Mohith HS and Bikramjit Singh also in the fray, India’s goalkeeping depth is impressive. Princedeep’s textbook technique has been further refined by Sreejesh over the last year or so and …

Chandrayaan-3 detects surprisingly active plasma over the Moon’s south pole | Technology News

Scientists have discovered that the area around the Moon’s south-polar region is much more electrically alive than we thought. Data from India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission from its lander Vikram show that just above the surface, the “plasma” (a mix of charged particles) is far denser and more energetic than earlier remote observations. Plasma is often described as the fourth state of matter, a blend of charged particles such as ions and free electrons. Although it is electrically neutral overall, it behaves very differently from ordinary gas due to its strong response to electromagnetic forces. On the Moon, this thin plasma layer, sometimes called the lunar ionosphere, is shaped by a complex mix of processes. A constant flux of solar wind streams of electrons and ions rushed out from the Sun and strikes the Moon’s airless surface.  Through the photoelectric effect, high-energy sunlight also removes electrons from surface atoms, increasing the ionised environment. The Moon receives a new supply of charged particles from our planet’s extended magnetic field as it drifts into Earth’s magnetotail for a few …

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t movie review| An energetic, charming and thoroughly watchable return

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t movie review| An energetic, charming and thoroughly watchable return

The good The franchise’s greatest asset remains its cast. Jesse slips back into Atlas’ neurotic brilliance with ease, Harrelson is reliably loose and unbothered, Franco remains the franchise’s smoothest operator, and Fisher’s return restores the original quartet’s rhythm. The newcomers, thankfully, don’t feel like corporate add-ons. Justice Smith, Ariana Greenblatt and Dominic Sessa bring sharpness, charm and just enough chaotic energy to make the generational clash fun. Ariana, in particular, gets a standout police-station action bit that feels like the film briefly waking up and stretching. And then there’s Rosamund Pike, who attacks her villain role like she’s auditioning to be the final boss of the Bond universe — hammy, but menacing, and visibly enjoying every second. The set-pieces, especially the illusion-laden sequence inside The Eye’s old headquarters, are inventive enough to make you miss this brand of goofy spectacle. The bad The film moves at such a breakneck pace that even the tricks seem exhausted. Twists appear and vanish before they land, emotional beats slip past unnoticed, and the explanations for the biggest showstoppers …

Scientists Detects Most Energetic Neutrino Ever in the Mediterranean Sea

Scientists Detects Most Energetic Neutrino Ever in the Mediterranean Sea

A neutrino with an energy level never observed before has been detected in the depths of the Mediterranean Sea. The subatomic particle, measuring an estimated 220 quadrillion electron volts, was recorded by a detector within the Cubic Kilometre Neutrino Telescope (KM3NeT). This discovery marks a significant milestone, as it surpasses previous neutrino detections by nearly 100 times in terms of energy. The precise origin of this particle remains undeetermined, though it is believed to have been generated by a high-energy cosmic event. Scientists are investigating its source and potential links to extreme astrophysical phenomena. High-Energy Neutrino Tracked in Deep-Sea Detector According to findings published in Nature, the neutrino was identified when it briefly interacted with KM3NeT’s sensors, located at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The telescope, divided into two sections—Astroparticle Research with Cosmics in the Abyss (ARCA) and Oscillation Research with Cosmics in the Abyss (ORCA)—is designed to capture rare, high-energy neutrinos. The detection was made in February 2023 by ARCA, positioned 80 kilometres off the coast of Sicily and submerged 3.5 kilometres below …

Novak Djokovic Reveals ‘Energetic Disc’ As New Secret Weapon

Novak Djokovic has revealed a new secret weapon that he credits with helping keep him healthy and prolong his career — a green “energetic disc”. Known for his new-age spiritual interests, the Serbian star is in Melbourne hoping to wind back the clock and win an 11th Australian Open and record 25th Grand Slam singles title. To help achieve the feat, he has a device made by an engineer in Serbia he claims has helped him deal with several ailments. The 37-year-old showed off the dinner-plate size disc in a video on Instagram. “It’s (an) energetic disc, creates an electromagnetic field around it and (the) kind of secret is in this pattern,” he said. “And so when you place it on a certain part of your body, place this part, for example, if you have stomach issues, which I do have often when I’m nervous, stressed before the match or indigestion issues, that creates heat. “So then it starts enhancing the metabolic functions or it reduces inflammation in certain parts of the body.” …
