Delhi weather: Several pockets across Delhi-NCR were engulfed in a blanket of shallow fog on Saturday morning, accompanied by a dip in temperature, as meteorological factors ensured a winter day-like morning. The lowest visibility was 1,200 metres, recorded between 7.30am and 8.30am at Safdarjung and between 8am and 9am at Palam, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). (ANI) Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius (°C) on Saturday, the lowest since February 26. It was 3°C below the previous day’s, 3.5°C below normal and 3.9°C below the seasonal average, according to the IMD. The veil of fog, however, lifted as the day progressed, with the city clocking a maximum temperature of 27.4°C. As per IMD data, this is the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the last 10 days of March in at least 15 years. At least nine people were killed after a container truck crashed into a private sleeper bus on Thursday. As per police officials, the bus caught on fire upon impact on National Highway 48. After the bus collided with the speeding truck, eyewitnesses rushed to the scene to pull out the passengers from the bus, which was ablaze.(PTI/Representational) The visuals surfacing from the site showed massive flames engulfing the bus, spreading through the windows and roof as dense smoke emerged from the vehicle. “I was outside the restaurant and a little after 1 p.m., I heard a loud explosion inside. As I rushed inside, I saw smoke and fire near the hand wash area and there was a pungent, burning smell. I do not know how the blast occurred. I saw many people injured and helped rush them to a hospital,” said Sachin Lamani, a security guard with The Rameshwaram Cafe’s Brookfield outlet, where a low-intensity blast occurred on Friday afternoon. Like any other typical Friday afternoon, many had assembled at the popular Rameshwaram Cafe for lunch when the blast occurred.
