Two persons murdered at Tasmac outlets in Tirupattur over previous enmity

Two persons were murdered in two Tasmac outlets near Ambur and Tirupattur town on Saturday over previous enmity. Police said the deceased were identified as S. Appunu (40), a native of Saminathapuram village near Ambur town, and B. Silabarasan (37), a native of Tirupattur town. Initial inquiry revealed that victim Appunu and his friend K. Gokul, a resident of Madhanur near Ambur, were consuming liquor in a Tasmac outlet near Madhanur village, off Chennai – Bengaluru Highway (NH 48). They were cab drivers in the area. Police said that the duo got into a heated argument when Appunu wanted his ₹20,000 back from Gokul, who borrowed the money a few months ago to meet his domestic needs. They exchanged blows on each other. In the impact, Appunu was badly injured. Immediately, Appunu was admitted at Government Taluk Hospital in Ambur town where doctors said that he was brought dead. A man and his son were bludgeoned to death over an old rivalry in Imliya Sultanpur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district on Friday night, police said on Saturday. They said the victims were returning home after attending an SDM court hearing when they were attacked and killed by members of a rival family. The assailants allegedly chased the victims and killed them by crushing the head with bricks before fleeing the spot. A day after police personnel and several others were injured when violence broke out during a rally organised by an association of right-wing groups questioning the legality of a mosque in Uttarkashi, police have filed an FIR, booking 150-200 people on multiple charges including promoting enmity between groups and attempt to murder. The FIR, registered Friday based on a complaint by Uttarkashi Kotwali inspector Amarjeet Singh, accused participants of the rally of inciting religious sentiment and promoting communal hatred. It alleged that participants of the rally resorted to violence, resulting in serious injuries to police personnel, and that the modesty of women officers on duty was targeted. Protesters under the banner of Sanyukt Sanatan Dharm Rakshak Sangh had taken out the rally on Thursday, claiming that a mosque in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi town was built illegally and demanding that it be demolished. Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been issued a death threat, allegedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding Rs 5 crore to “end the enmity”. A WhatsApp message, sent to Mumbai Traffic Police, warned that if the money is not paid, then the actor’s fate would be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was murdered recently, allegedly by Bishnoi gang members. “Don’t take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddiqui’s,” the threat message read.  According to sources, the Mumbai Police is working to track the origins of the message and have increased security around Mr Khan’s Bandra residence. A man was killed and his friend injured in a knife attack outside a polling booth in Maharashtra`s Dharashiv district, where polling is underway in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Tuesday, the police said, reported the PTI. The attack was due to personal enmity and had nothing to do with the elections, an official said, as per the PTI. According to the news agency, the incident occurred outside the polling booth in Patsangvi village of Bhoom tehsil around 11.30 am, he said. The victim was identified as 27-year-old Samadhan Nanasaheb Pawar, and his friend were standing outside the polling booth when they were attacked by the accused, Gaurav alias Lalya Naiknavare, he said, the PTI reported on Tuesday. The duo sustained serious injuries in the attack, he said. Samadhan Pawar was rushed to a private hospital in Barshi, where he succumbed to injuries, and his friend`s condition is out of danger, the official said. Police have arrested seven persons for allegedly killing a 38-year-old man over an enmity in Maharashtra`s Gondia district, officials said, reported news agency PTI. The incident took place on Monday night when the man, Rohit alias Golu Hariprasad Tiwari was going on his two-wheeler towards Kudwa Chowk, the officials said on Tuesday, reported PTI. The accused, who were riding two motorcycles, followed him. One of them allegedly opened fire at Tiwari, an official said, reported PTI. The bullet pierced through the man`s chest. On getting information, his brother and some other persons rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed during treatment, the police said, reported PTI.
