Garbage dumpsite at Bandhwari situated within the eco-sensitive Aravallis is in the eye of a storm again as the two private companies engaged to clear the legacy waste at the landfill have now sought time till the end of the year. Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya told The Indian Express that currently, the performance of the two companies is not up to the mark, as they are only able to process 4,000 metric tonnes of waste a day instead of about 20,000 to meet current deadlines. “We have sent the details to the state government for its decision on the extension sought,” he added.
