Inflows into equity mutual funds surged 21 per cent month-on-month to Rs 29,911.05 crore in November, compared with Rs 24,690.33 crore in October, according to the latest data from the Association of Mutual Funds (AMFI). Inflows through systematic investment plans (SIPs) declined marginally to Rs 29,445 crore in November, from Rs 29,529 crore in the previous month. Total assets under management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry inched up to Rs 80.8 lakh crore in the reporting month, from Rs 79.88 lakh crore in October . “Investors have continued to show faith in equity despite the volatility in the markets,” said Ovas Bakshi, Head-Retail Sales, Kotak Mahindra AMC. Small-cap funds witnessed November inflows worth Rs 4,406.9 crore compared with Rs 3,476.04 crore in the previous month. Mid-cap funds saw inflows of Rs 4,486.91 crore, up 18 per cent month-on-month from Rs 3,807.11 crore in October.
