After initial denial, CBSE invited ethical hacker to plug gaps in IT system

For two weeks, an IIT expert team worked 16 to 18 hours every day to patch vulnerabilities that were emerging in the CBSE IT ecosystem The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) invited ethical hacker Nisarga Adhikary, 19, this week for meetings with an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) expert team to flag security gaps in its IT ecosystem. Mr. Adhikary had last month reported “critical vulnerabilities” in the portal that stores sensitive student data. The CBSE had earlier denied any breach in its data security. “Nisarga is a bright kid. He found important vulnerabilities. We were curious to understand his thought process. Because he happened to be in Delhi, we exchanged messages and found him very focused on cybersecurity, so we called him in to help us fix the system,” a member of the IIT expert team said.  “It is very important to admit that there is a breach, but earlier CBSE was not properly advised on how to deal with the situation. On the contrary, when the JEE (Advanced) portal had a minor breach, …

India Risks Widening Healthcare Divide Without Ethical AI Safeguards, Experts Warn

New Delhi, February 2026 — As India races to integrate artificial intelligence into its healthcare system—through telemedicine expansions, AI diagnostics, and massive data digitization under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)—a growing chorus of experts is sounding the alarm: without deliberate focus on equity, ethics, and inclusion, the technology could exacerbate rather than bridge the country’s deep healthcare inequalities. India Risks Widening Healthcare Divide Without Ethical AI Safeguards, Experts Warn India’s digital health transformation is among the world’s fastest. Initiatives like ABDM aim to create unified digital health records for hundreds of millions, while AI tools are already boosting diagnostic accuracy by 20-30% in some areas and enabling early detection of diseases like tuberculosis and cancer. The Economic Survey 2025-26 positions AI as a “force multiplier” for addressing care gaps, and events such as the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026 emphasize frugal, inclusive applications in healthcare. Yet, prominent voices argue that unchecked deployment threatens to create a two-tiered system—benefiting urban, digitally connected populations while marginalizing rural, low-income, and underserved communities. “AI offers extraordinary potential …

Even in the film industry, directors, actors and writers all over the world are trying to take a stand so that AI doesn’t take their place or use their likeness or work without consent. In between all this, AI-generated actor Tilly Norwood has sparked further controversy, with many rallying against the idea. Now, the creator of Tilly, Eline van der Velden, has spoken up about her creation. Velden, who is the CEO of AI company Particle6, shared with Variety why she thinks that Tilly is important for the future of Hollywood. For those calling Tilly nothing more than a piece of code, Velden said, “When people talk about Tilly Norwood, they often forget one crucial detail: there’s a real person and a creative human vision behind her. Actors have always brought characters to life, and that’s exactly what I did …

How Fiona Arakal is Reimagining Ethical Food from the Ground Up

Equally important was building trust with the local community in Niravi Pudupatti. As outsiders, gaining buy-in was crucial. Fiona recognized the need to bridge their lack of farming knowledge with the deep-rooted expertise of the villagers. Hiring locally was essential, not just for labour, but for partnership. A pivotal moment involved building a large, 6,000 sq. ft factory smack in the middle of the farm in 2017. This significant investment, made even before they had substantial crops to process and was a deliberate choice, “I knew we have to do something outrageously demonstrative for the villagers to prove to them that we are here to stay and we are not tourists; not someone with a flight of fancy. So, we built a proper factory structure with floors and roof and lights just so that it would signal to the people how serious we were,” she says. It underscored Ishka’s promise not just to farm, but to process locally, creating skilled, “white collar” jobs for educated locals alongside field work, fostering a truly integrated local enterprise. “I said we will grow …

Is he Christ? Is he Moses? Superman’s religious and ethical undertones add to his mystique | Hollywood

Superman was born Kryptonian, raised Methodist and sketched into existence by two Jewish teens in 1930s Cleveland. Faith and morality are his DNA. Is he Christ? Is he Moses? Superman’s religious and ethical undertones add to his mystique There are no overt religious references in Superman comics. But over eight decades, he’s been viewed as a divine entity, a savior figure — his sacrifice Christ-like, his will to lead as strong as Moses parting the Red Sea, and his compassion akin to a bodhisattva, an enlightened being who guides Buddhists on the spiritual path. While scholars, comic book writers and fans alike are struck by the religious undertones in Superman comics, they say what separates Superman from the ever-growing pack of superheroes is his singular ability to bring hope in a hopeless world. As fans celebrate Superman Day on Friday, marking the 87th anniversary of the original superhero’s birth, they are also eagerly anticipating James Gunn’s film “Superman” set for release on July 11. This version starring David Corenswet, the first Jewish actor to play …
