The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday launched raids at 13 locations in connection with an alleged terror funding and organised syndicate involved in facilitating illegal infiltration of Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals into India, people familiar with the development said. ED Lucknow conducted searches at 13 premises under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. (Reuters file) The agency’s prevention of money laundering act probe in the matter is based a first information report (FIR) of Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). “ED Lucknow conducted searches at 13 premises under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 in connection with an alleged terror funding and illegal infiltration network,” said an officer. “The case originates from an FIR registered by the Uttar Pradesh ATS regarding an organised syndicate allegedly involved in facilitating illegal infiltration of Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals into India, arranging forged Indian identity documents and aiding their rehabilitation in various parts of the country,” the officer added. Punjab Dismisses Cop For Facilitating TV Interview With Lawrence Bishnoi

Chandigarh: A senior police officer of Punjab has been sacked for facilitating the recording of an interview with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi by a private television channel while he was in the custody of the CIA (Crime Investigation Agency) in Kharar. The action came after a probe by a Special Investigation Team. The state police chief said Gursher Singh Sandhu has “severely dented the image of the department “with his misconduct, negligence and dereliction of duty.   While reviewing the matter, the state government, too, came to the same conclusion and issued an order for his dismissal.  Bishnoi’s interviews were conducted while he was in police custody. One of these was at the  CIA staff premises Kharar, and was aired by a private news channel in March 2023. New Delhi, Delhi Police said it has uncovered a large-scale illegal immigration racket involving Bangladeshi nationals and arrested four people, including two persons from the neighbouring country who allegedly entered India illegally, an official said on Thursday. Nintendo sues Switch emulator Yuzu for ‘facilitating piracy at a colossal scale’

If you’ve ever seen a Steam Deck playing a Legend of Zelda game, chances are you were seeing the Yuzu emulator at work. Now, Nintendo has sued the developers of Yuzu in US federal court, with the intent of squashing Yuzu for good. In the lawsuit, spotted by Stephen Totilo, Nintendo alleges that Yuzu violates the anti-circumvention and anti-trafficking provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) as well as accusing the creators of copyright infringement. It alleges Yuzu is “primarily designed” to circumvent several layers of Nintendo Switch encryption so its users can play copyrighted Nintendo games. “…immediately transfer the domain name yuzu-emu.org … to Nintendo’s control” The company’s not only asking for the courts to stop Yuzu in its tracks with a permanent injunction. It also wants to take away its domain names, URLs, chatrooms, and social media presence; hand yuzu-emu.org over to Nintendo; and even seize and destroy its hard drives to help wipe out the emulator.
