Chiraiya star Siddharth Shaw on being an outsider in Bollywood: ‘The gods are in our favour’ | Exclusive

Chiraiya actor Siddharth Shaw was recently in the National Capital, where he sat down for a fun chat with HT City in Khan Market. He opened up about his childhood dreams of becoming an actor and what it feels like to finally shine onscreen. When asked if being an outsider came with its fair share of struggles, Siddharth shared that every film has its own journey whereas every actor has their own destiny. “Whatever is meant for you will eventually come to you. Yes, being an outsider makes it tougher to reach the audience, but the tag doesn’t decide if you will or won’t get cast for a role. At the end of the day, we are a strictly B2C (Business-to-Consumer) industry. If the consumer, the dear audience does not accept us, there is no way that you will get work, irrespective of what family you come from,” said the actor. Actor Siddharth Shaw in Delhi (Anurag Mehra/HT) Siddharth explained, “Yes, coming from a film family gives you leverage, your parents have been working there, …

The court is also hearing power companies in this matter, as they have opposed recommendations to halt certain projects. The Centre stated in no uncertain terms that there is a considerable difference in Ganga River system vis-a-vis other river systems and hence, special treatment is required for this region and geological and ecological integrity needs to be maintained for …

EXCLUSIVE: WFI chief on Vinesh Phogat missing Asian Games trials: ‘No special favour’

The doors have closed on wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s chances of making it to the Asian Games trials on May 30 because of the paucity of time between her giving a detailed reply to a show cause notice and the Wrestling Federation of India’s (WFI) disciplinary committee taking a call on her participation eligibility. This, according to WFI president Sanjay Singh, who is at the Open National Ranking Tournament in Gonda. Speaking to The Indian Express on Tuesday, a day after the WFI dug in its heels and reiterated its stance to disallow Vinesh from competing in the ranking tournament, Singh said rules could not be bent, no matter a wrestler’s stature. Despite missing the Asian Games trials window, there is still hope for her to compete in the trials for the World Championships to be held in Manama, Bahrain, in October-November. Noida airport CEO’s security clearance unlikely as govt not in favour of changing rule for greenfield airports | Business News

2 min readNew DelhiApr 22, 2026 02:13 AM IST The CEO of the recently inaugurated Noida International Airport (NIA), Christoph Schnellmann, may not be able to get security clearance from the government, which is not in favour of amending aviation security rules that stipulate that a foreign national should not be the chief executive of a greenfield airport, according to sources. Schnellmann is a Swiss national; an arm of Zurich Airport International AG has developed the NIA, and will also be operating it. The airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 28, weeks after receiving its aerodrome licence on March 6. Yet, there is no clarity on when it will start commercial operations. Its aerodrome security programme (ASP) is still pending. The CEO’s security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is a prerequisite for the airport to start commercial operations. According to a 2011 aviation security order by BCAS, the “chief executive officer of Indian nationality” at greenfield airports shall be the security coordinator of the airport and shall …

IPL 2026 Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians Today Match Toss Update: Mumbai Indians go into Monday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match against Gujarat Titans after losing four matches on the bounce. GT, on the other hand, could record a fourth consecutive win if they win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today. MI have never managed to beat GT in Ahmedabad, with their captain Pandya himself being the architect of their failures in the first two instances when he was captaining GT. MI’s batting lineup has been beset with issues while their bowlers have performed marginally better. Interestingly, while their star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been almost as difficult to score against as ever, he is yet to pick a single wicket this season even after playing five games. Quinton de Kock played in place of the injured Rohit Sharma in their last game but MI had to then sacrific Trent Boult to make way for the South African, a decision that came back to bite them. Rohit, meanwhile, has been their …

Sunrisers played six times last season in Hyderabad and had a dismal record, winning just one of those matches. Moreover, they never won the toss even once. Their inability to cash in on tbeir home matches was a big reason as to why they fell so far off the pace in the race for the playoffs. That helped them blaze their way to a score of 286/6 and it had looked like they would continue from where they left off previous season. Instead, it turned out to be a false dawn.
