Suspended Junior Engineer (JE) Abhay Kumar of the electricity department said the incident was linked to the malfunction of the 11KV Chhibaiya feeder, during which a lineman died. According to Shailendra Sharma, Vice President of the Rajya Vidyut Parishad Junior Engineer Sangathan, the feeder had gone down late at night, and Kumar worked from around 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM to fix it. After returning home, he was informed the feeder had tripped again and instructed linemen to restore it while he followed. One lineman called his cousin, who was not a department employee, to assist without informing Kumar. Pune Metro commuters get shared rickshaw feeder service at SNDT station

Finding an auto after stepping out of the metro may soon become easier for commuters. A new ‘Rikshamitra Metro Share Rickshaw Feeder Service’ was launched outside SNDT Metro Station in Pune on Friday, offering passengers a shared and organised auto-rickshaw facility for their last-mile journey. In a move aimed at easing last-mile connectivity for Pune Metro commuters, authorities launched the Rikshamitra shared autorickshaw feeder service outside SNDT Metro Station on Friday. The service will allow passengers to directly access shared rickshaws from a dedicated booth outside the station and travel to nearby residential areas at affordable fares. The booth was inaugurated by Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil in the presence of Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure, Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar and Director (MMI) Anilkumar Kokate, among others. Following the inauguration, Patil flagged off the first batch of autos under the feeder service. India’s Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick combined to win the 2026 WTT Feeder Cappadocia title in Turkey on Friday. Das and Bhowmick, who entered the main draw as the wild cards, scripted a fairly tale run to beat the top seeded Ng Win Lam and Wong Hoi Tung of Hong Kong 3-1 in the final. Top seed and home favourite Manush Shah and the Korea Republic’s Ryu Hanna emerged as the men’s and women’s singles champions respectively at the WTT Feeder Series 2026 in Vadodara on Sunday. The tournament, presented by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, was held at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex and marked the city’s first-ever WTT Feeder event. Patronage for the Kochi metro’s feeder buses is on the rise. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Over two lakh commuters travelled in the fleet of 15 air-conditioned electric feeder buses that Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) introduced on January 16 on the metro’s feeder routes, the metro agency has said. On concerns over inadequate patronage for the three feeder buses that were introduced on March 19 on the High Court-MG Road-High Court circular route, KMRL said hope was still not lost since the daily patronage for buses in the corridor had doubled during the past couple of weeks to an average of 773 passengers a day. Buses are operating in the passenger-dense corridor every 10 minutes. A total of 8,573 commuters travelled in the feeder buses in the circular route alone. While 1,556 commuters travelled in them in the first week after their launch on the route, their number more than doubled to 5,415 in the week between March 29 and April 4. With no dedicated stop inside Pune airport, feeder bus services not profitable: PMPML | Pune News

As Aeromall and Pune Airport authorities are yet to provide space within the airport premises for feeder bus services, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has claimed the service to the nearest Metro station is not yielding profits due to the bus stop being located outside the airport on the main road. Aeromall Multi-level Parking is the designated parking space for air passengers and is connected to the airport via a bridge. PMPML, in collaboration with Maha Metro, introduced the service last year responding to the passengers’ demand to start a feeder service from Ramwadi Metro Station to the airport. However, the passengers have expressed dissatisfaction, citing inconvenience, as they are forced to walk around 300-400 metres to reach the airport gate. Digital payment system launched in Kochi metro’s feeder autorickshaws

Commuters of feeder autorickshaws that operate from Kochi metro stations can henceforth pay for their trip using debit or credit cards and also through different UPI apps and the Kochi-1 card. The initiative, launched here on Monday by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) managing director Loknath Behera, will help improve customer experience in feeder autos. Passengers will be given digital receipt of their payment, ushering in accountability in fare collection, says a release. The others who were present included Gokul T.G., the additional general manager of KMRL’s urban transport wing; office-bearers of Ernakulam District Auto Drivers’ Cooperative Society, and Nishant Ravindran, chief executive officer of OneDi Smart Mobility, which helped develop the system.
