During the 2020 lockdown, actor and director Boman Irani began Spiral Bound, an initiative that trained aspiring screenwriters. Six years on, it has grown into a nurturing hub for writers. The actor, who had announced a writing competition after conducting 870 sessions, is set to felicitate the winners at a special gala in Bandra on April 30.   Irani told mid-day that the idea of the competition was to instill confidence in the writers. He explained, “Many of them are afraid to share their work. They are unsure whether the writing is good or bad. Hindutva groups in Karnataka on Friday felicitated Parasuram Waghmore and Manohar Yadawe, the key accused in the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, after their release from Bengaluru Central Jail. A special court granted the duo bail on October 9. A source said the Sangh Parivar and Sri Ram Sena felicitated Waghmore and Yadawe after they returned to their hometown of Vijayapura. The event’s photos and videos went viral on Sunday. Upon their arrival, they reportedly offered prayers at the Kalika temple and were garlanded by Sangh Parivar and Sri Rama Sena members. They also garlanded a statue of Shivaji at Shivaji Circle in the town. Gauri Lankesh was shot dead on September 5, 2017, outside her residence in Bengaluru. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will facilitate Indian stalwart Sunil Chhetri, who will make his 150th appearance for the senior Indian men’s team against Afghanistan in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 in Guwahati on March 26. Chhetri made his senior team debut on June 12, 2005, in a friendly match against Pakistan in Quetta. He was India’s scorer in the 1-1 draw.
