What’s the one record that Manchester United couldn’t break even during Alex Ferguson’s time? Clue: It took 41 years | Football News

2 min readApr 21, 2026 08:37 PM IST Not even the Unforgettables of 1999 managed it, nor in 2008. It has taken Manchester United 41 years, but for the first time since 1985, the Red Devils have managed to defeat Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in away fixtures. Back in the day, Chelsea weren’t very big. Then again, this season they are a disaster, as well. United are third on 58 points. All away, all wins, goes the refrain at ManchesterUnited, even as they haggle with Brentford to secure a Champions League spot with complicated math. The tom-tomming has begun, though it comes on the back of wretched results in all other domestic Cups and almost a game a week, and plenty of rest, even as other team endure mid-week spikes in activity. United have beaten Chelsea 1-0 and 2-1, Liverpool 2-1, Arsenal 3-2 this season with assists by Bruno Fernandes in 4 of those 6 big games. He has 18 this season. They have also beaten Everton (an away punchbag with 20 wins), Crystal Palace, …

Chris Pratt & Rebecca Ferguson’s Sci-Fi Thriller’s Modest US Preview Numbers Indicate Low Opening Weekend Turnout

Mercy Previews Box Office Update (Photo Credit: Instagram) Amazon MGM’s sci-fi action thriller Mercy is lining up for a tough January run, joining Primate, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and Greenland 2: Migration as titles struggling in the post-holiday slowdown. The Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson starrer arrives as audience interest in fresh releases dips after the strong Christmas and New Year turnout at US theaters. With a production budget of $60 million, Mercy collected $1.5 million from Thursday’s previews in the US. Mercy Preview Performance Compared To Recent Sci-Fi Releases Comparable sci-fi releases show how modest that figure looks. Robert Pattinson’s Mickey 17 posted $2.5 million in previews, Glen Powell’s The Running Man reached $1.9 million, while John David Washington’s The Creator pulled in $1.6 million. The preview numbers place Mercy at the lower end of the recent genre scale heading into its opening frame. Mercy’s limited promotion and a last-minute embargo lift kept awareness muted going into opening day. Market conditions offered little relief, with holdover titles continuing to dominate ticket sales. …

File photo of Sir Alex Ferguson© AFP Manchester United new part-owners INEOS have ended a multi-million pound ambassadorial contract with Alex Ferguson as the club continued its cost-cutting programme. Ferguson, the most successful manager in the club’s history, had been retained as a global club ambassador following his exit as manager in 2013, which brought an end to a 26-year reign in which he won 38 trophies, which includes 13 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups and four League Cups and others. According to The Athletic report, INEOS have been exhausting all avenues to reduce costs and that led them to zoom in on the club’s commitment to Ferguson, who is still a regular attendee of games in the directors’ box both at home and away matches. Ferguson was told in a face-to-face meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe that the club were trying to reduce costs and that they were no longer in a position to continue paying him beyond this season and he will not be receiving payments from …
