Speaking about why the relationship didn’t progress into a shared life, she said, “It wasn’t practical. Either I would have had to leave behind my job and go to the West Indies, or he would have had to give up his career and come to India; neither of which was possible.”  Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra, she also explained why she chose not to take financial support while raising her daughter: “I didn’t feel like it. I had so much pride. I never even asked my parents for money. I accepted only what they offered, particularly since they were already opposed to my becoming an actor. They always felt that acting wasn’t a good (respectable) job. Since I came to Mumbai against their wishes, how can I ask them for money?” Reflecting on the emotional side of …

Netflix declines to raise its offer to buy Warner, says deal is ‘no longer financially attractive’  | World News

Netflix is declining to raise its offer to buy Warner Bros Discovery’s studio and streaming business, in a stunning move that effectively puts Paramount in a position to take over the fellow storied Hollywood giant. On Thursday, after Warner’s board announced that Skydance-owned Paramount’s offer was superior to the agreement it had previously struck with Netflix, the streaming giant said the new price that would be required to buy Warner would make it a deal that is “no longer financially attractive.” Unlike Netflix’s bid, Paramount wants all of Warner’s operations, including networks like CNN and Discovery. That would put CNN under the same roof as Paramount’s CBS and combine two of Hollywood’s last five remaining studios. The owner of HBO Max, DC Studios and popular titles like “Harry Potter” had backed Netflix’s proposal for months. But after Skydance-owned Paramount upped its rival bid for the entire company to USD 31 per share, in addition to other revisions, Warner’s board on Thursday said that the offer “constitutes a company superior proposal.’” A Paramount buyout Warner’s business …

BCCI Remains Financially Resilient Despite Dream11 Exit

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) remains strong despite the withdrawal of Dream11 Sponsorship and a shortfall in ICC share. According to a statement submitted to the Apex Council, the BCCI has made up for the deficit through a separate sponsorship deal with Adidas. However, Apollo Tyres became the India jersey sponsor after signing a deal with the BCCI for INR 5579 crore. “Notwithstanding the withdrawal of sponsors such as Dream11 and other entities affected by recent legislative changes, BCCI had successfully secured a new jersey sponsorship at a higher valuation for another two-and-a-half-year cycle,” said the statement. Earlier in August, Dream11 pulled out of an INR 358 crore sponsorship deal after the Government of India passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025, which banned real-money gaming (RMG), the core business of Dream11. After the bill was passed, the revenue of platforms like Dream11 and My11circle took a massive hit. It was inevitable that their partnership with the BCCI would come to an end. The Indian cricket board in 2023 …

Despite belonging to the affluent Bhatt family, Rahul Bhatt did not choose cinema as a career. The son of renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his first wife Kiran Bhatt, Rahul recently spoke about the emotional toll his parents’ separation had on him. He also opened up about his struggles growing up in a film family. Mentioning that he was a loner growing up, Rahul also emphasised his disdain for industry insiders. “The scars are still very much there, although they have gotten lighter over the years. There was a lot of anger within me growing up, particularly because people kept making fun of me and my mother. Other kids used to ridicule me by saying that my father left my mother. Children can be very brutal,” a visibly emotional Rahul said with a lump in his throat during a chat with Hindi Rush. “I was always lonely. People didn’t want to associate with me. So, I was and continue to be a loner. But that anger never actually left. It has subsided, yes, but not …
