While Delhi Capitals have lost three matches batting second and won four batting second, the team has lost all their matches batting first. After Patel won the toss and elected to bat first in the team’s eight-wicket loss against Chennai Super Kings, former Australian captain and T20 World Cup winner Aaron Finch has blasted Delhi Capitals for their decision and branded their decisions as ‘head scratching’ ones. When asked about the team’s decision making being a mess, Finch replied in affirmative. “Absolutely it is (a mess up). Meet the Galapagos Finch that drinks blood to survive | Pets-animals News

4 min readNew DelhiApr 25, 2026 11:00 PM IST When most people hear the word ‘vampire,’ their minds conjure images of Dracula, supernatural beings, or perhaps the blood-drinking bats of South America. Few would imagine a small, seemingly innocent bird as nature’s blood-sucking predator.  Yet, on two remote islands in the Galapagos archipelago lives one of nature’s most fascinating evolutionary oddities. The vampire finch, highlighted in Sir David Attenborough’s BBC series Perfect Planet, has developed a remarkable feeding behaviour that has captivated many. These small birds have evolved to drink the blood of much larger seabirds, primarily Nazca boobies, using their specially adapted, sharp beaks. “These birds are found on the Galapagos Islands, a volcanic archipelago located about 1,000 km (600 miles) off the coast of Ecuador,” notes the Galapagos Conservation Trust. “The Islands are a biodiversity hotspot in part because of their isolation. Organisms that somehow make it to Galapagos must adapt to the harsh conditions or go extinct.” Where these birds are found The vampire finches exist exclusively on Wolf and Darwin Islands, …

Finch cautions against rushing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s India debut: ‘Let the kid play, let him learn’ | Cricket News

3 min readApr 15, 2026 11:40 PM IST Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the toast of the season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with his utterly astonishing exploits with the bat making as many headlines around the world as the fact that he is only 15 years old. All this came after being the driving force in India’s U19 World Cup victory earlier this year, before which he turned heads simply because of being picked up in the IPL as a 14-year-old first and then nearly breaking Chris Gayle’s record for fastest T20 century of all time. All of it has led to the now 15-year-old being in line to make his debut with the senior Indian team. If he does so, he will be the youngest India debutant of all time in men’s cricket, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar who famously made his debut in a Test match against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days. However, amid all the noise, former Australia captain Aaron Finch has cautioned …

Aaron Finch on why Axar Patel is ‘a serious package in international cricket’ and one thing he’d like to see Shivam Dube do more of | Cricket News

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch was full of praise for Axar Patel who played his all-rounder role to perfection as India’s spinners took six wickets in a stunning fight back to rout Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20I on the Gold Coast on Thursday. Bowling for the first time in the series, Washington Sundar took 3-3 in 1.2 overs while fellow all-rounder Patel had 2-20 as Australia lost their last nine wickets for 52 runs at Carrara stadium. Patel was named man-of-the-match, having also contributed an unbeaten 21 with the bat to push India past 160. “He’s somebody who strikes a ball so cleanly, and he gave India a real injection right at the backend of the innings,” Finch told JioHotstar. “It looked at one stage that they might only get around that 152-153 mark. But then a couple of big blows in the last over off Marcus Stoinis.. just proved the package that he is. Then when he gets ball in hand, he’s a wizard at times. Particularly on surfaces like this, …

‘KKR have only themselves to blame’: Aaron Finch points out how defending champions bungled their title defence | Ipl News

Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders were knocked out of the Indian Premier League 2025 on a day when the IPL season restarted after a nine-day halt in action due to the India-Pakistan conflict. The end for the three-time IPL champions came at the Chinnaswamy Stadium without a ball being bowled as Bengaluru skies opened up and did not allow the RCB vs KKR game to happen. The no result meant that both teams split a point which edged RCB closer to securing a playoffs spot, while KKR were eliminated. Having let captain Shreyas Iyer leave after the season ended, the Kolkata-based franchise reposed their faith in Ajinkya Rahane to help them defend the IPL 2025 title. Former Australia cricketer Aaron Finch said that KKR were themselves to blame for their fate. Story continues below this ad “They’ve only got themselves to blame. They almost kicked themselves after that last game against CSK – it was theirs to win. The match was almost wrapped up, and they still couldn’t cross the line, which turned out to …

“Allows Your Team…” Aaron Finch Lauds RCB’s IPL 2025 Strategy

Former RCB batter Aaron Finch has applauded RCB’s strategy in the ongoing IPL 2025 season, saying that batting along with Virat Kohli makes the batters happy and go the aggressive way, while he holds one end up even if the strike rate is not sky-high. His statement comes after an 11-run victory in the Rajasthan Royals at Bengaluru, where Virat Kohli kept up the chase on Orange Cap leader Sai Sudharsan. “Yes, I mean, if you are offered 650, 700 runs at the start of the year, from one of your top-three batters. No matter whether your strike rate is 150 or 200, you would take that every single day because that just allows your team the platform to play around,” said Aaron Finch. Finch also said that Rajat Patidar has been aggressive with his batting this season. The former Aussie batter said that Virat kohli rarely gets out for 30 once he gets settled in. “That’s when you can put some cowboys in the middle order, ultra-high risk and they tried to do that …

With his fifth half-century in this year’s IPL in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s 11-run win over Rajasthan Royals at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli jumped to the number 2 spot in the list of highest run getters in this year’s IPL. With a total of 392 runs with an average of 65.33, Kohli in only behind Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Super Giants, who lead the table with 417 runs in eight matches. Kohli remains the only Indian player to have won the Orange Cap twice in IPL history and with seven 500-plus aggregates in IPL history, Kohli remains one of the top scorers in the league. Former Australian captain Aaron Finch believes Kohli’s ability to score consistently gives Royal Challengers Bengaluru the right platform to play around. “Yes, I mean, if you are offered 650, 700 runs at the start of the year, from one of your top-three batters. No matter whether your strike rate is 150 or 200, you would take that every single day because that just allows your team the platform to play around. …

“Need to Have an Intent” Aaron Finch Takes Direct Blunt Over KKR’s Defeat Against GT

Former Australia white-ball captain Aaron Finch has minced no words as he shredded Kolkata Knight Riders’ approach in the IPL 2025 game against Gujarat Titans. Ajinkya Rahane’s side fell 39 runs short against the Shubman Gill-led side as they failed to chase down the target of 199. Speeding up their chase, KKR lost 2 wickets for 68 runs by the end of ten overs with Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer at the crease. Rahane eventually scored 50 runs off 36 deliveries, while Iyer failed after departing 14 runs off 19 deliveries. Venkatesh Iyer failed to hit a single four or six in his innings. Despite cameo knocks from Andre Russell and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, they failed to chase the target. The defeat now leaves KKR’s hopes of playoff clueless, with needing five wins out of six games remaining in the group stages. Venkatesh Iyer(X) “You need to have an intent to take spin down. You can’t hit a six or a boundary if you’re not trying to, if your first instinct is to just knock it into …

‘Rohit Sharma’s Powerplay aggression is possible because he knows Virat Kohli can fix his mistakes’: Aaron Finch | Ipl News

‘Rohit Sharma’s Powerplay aggression is possible because he knows Virat Kohli can fix his mistakes’: Aaron Finch | Ipl News

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been the cornerstones of India’s ODI batting for well over a decade. However, the change in approach that the current India captain and opener has embraced in the format has done wonders for India, who have won all but one match across three ICC limited-overs events in the 2023 ODI World Cup, last year’s T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai earlier this month. Former Australia captain Aaron Finch, however, believes that Rohit’s unfiltered aggression at the top is close to impossible without the cushion that Kohli offers at his favoured No. 3 spot in ODIs. Finch remarked that Rohit’s batting is fraught with numerous risks in the Powerplay and that the 37-year-old continues to hold onto the method knowing that Kohli has got his back. “When you look, when Rohit’s made that conscious decision, he’s had Virat coming in behind him at number three. So there’s an ability for him to say, you know what, I’ve got the guy behind that will fix any mistakes …
