‘Yadav bharti’ to ‘reservation audit’: Amid UP job vacancies row, SP flips narrative on BJP | Political Pulse News

As hundreds of aspirants from Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Scheduled Caste (SC) communities crawled on their bellies in the scorching heat outside Uttar Pradesh Education Minister Sandeep Singh’s residence in Lucknow on Monday, the Samajwadi Party (SP) moved swiftly to fold the protest into its broader political pitch through the “PDA Arakshan Audit” ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The visuals from the protest over the stalled 69,000 assistant teachers’ recruitment process have provided fresh ammunition to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s ongoing “PDA Aarakshan Audit” campaign. Through the initiative, the party is attempting to reclaim the social justice narrative and consolidate non-Yadav OBCs, Most Backward Classes (MBCs), Dalits and minorities under its PDA — Pichda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak — umbrella. For years, the BJP accused the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP government of promoting “Yadav bharti” — favouring members of the Yadav community in government recruitment and postings between 2012 and 2017. The narrative is widely seen to have helped the BJP consolidate non-Yadav OBCs and MBCs, while also expanding its support among non-Jatav Dalits. In a …

Bombay HC Seeks Answers as BMC Flips Stand on 27,000 Sq Metre Worli Land

Bombay HC Seeks Answers as BMC Flips Stand on 27,000 Sq Metre Worli Land

3 min readMar 28, 2026 08:21 AM IST The Bombay High Court on Friday sought to know the reasons for BMC’s change in stand after the civic body said it required the entire over 27,000 square metres instead of 17,756 sq metres for the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Worli. The HC directed the BMC to file an affidavit stating reasons for the change in stand. Earlier, the HC had allowed BMC to utilise the available plot of 17,756 square metres and had said it would later examine how the reservation for a larger area of 27,698 square metres was reduced to nearly 17,000 square metres to build a transit camp for a slum rehabilitation project. Last month, the high court had stopped the construction of the transit buildings, noting that the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) had allowed it despite BMC objections, terming it a “systematic design” to favour the developer. On March 23, the HC had asked the BMC and SRA officials to jointly visit the site to identify the area of over 17,000 …

Ishan flips momentum, Saim Ayub uses flight & turn, Bumrah-Hardik as India rout Pakistan by biggest margin | Cricket News

A match that saw so much happen before even a ball was bowled ended in the most predictable manner. For all the build-up, the rhetoric and the theatre that inevitably accompany an India–Pakistan clash, the competitive edge in this rivalry has dulled in recent years. Sunday was no exception. India wobbled briefly, but the stutter was fleeting. Ishan Kishan responded with an innings of rare authority, counterattacking on a surface that grew increasingly tacky with every passing over. If Kishan tilted the contest with the bat, the bowlers slammed it shut. For much of the late 20th century, Pakistan’s pride lay in the variety and menace of their attack – a conveyor belt of fast bowlers and crafty spinners. In recent years, that historical narrative has felt inverted. India’s attack was sharper, more disciplined and infinitely more adaptable to conditions. What was once a combative rivalry now increasingly resembles a lesson in modern white-ball precision. BIGGEST WIN FOR INDIA OVER PAKISTAN IN T20Is (61 runs)! 🤯 With that, they make it 8-1 in #INDvPAK in …
