EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan is not doing a cameo in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, focuses on King

Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that Shah Rukh Khan has politely declined a cameo appearance in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, choosing to keep his complete focus on his upcoming film King. The superstar is said to be keen on maintaining exclusivity around his on-screen presence and hence, does not wish to make any big-screen appearances before the release of King.  A source tells us, “The makers were keen to have Shah Rukh Khan onboard for a 5-day cameo, and he was absolutely open to the idea. However, his current focus remains firmly on King, which holds immense importance for him, especially as it marks his daughter Suhana’s big-screen launch. In a respectful conversation with the team, SRK expressed his willingness to do the cameo while requesting that the release of Jailer could be aligned post King, as he wanted his appearance to remain exclusive to that film. He has a certain look in King, and he doesn’t want to have the same in any other film before.” Despite stepping away from the offer, SRK continues to hold …

India vs New Zealand, 1st ODI: Shreyas Iyer practises grounded shots and Rishabh Pant focuses on technique in nets ahead of series opener | Cricket News

Under the mellow winter sun, a day before their first match of 2026 against New Zealand at the new BCA Stadium, six members of India’s squad sweated out in an optional training session at the ‘B’ ground, behind the main venue. There was little urgency or spectacle, but clear intent, as the session unfolded as an exercise in fine-tuning roles rather than advertising form. KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant began in adjacent nets, an arrangement that itself reflected contrasting priorities. Rahul’s stint was brief before Shreyas Iyer, who will be playing his first game for India since October, stepped in. The patterns that followed offered clearer cues. Iyer’s low backlift Iyer’s stint was the most sustained of the afternoon. After Rahul stepped out, the ODI vice-captain settled in for a long hit, beginning against pace before taking on spin. The work was measured and controlled. He batted with a lower, more horizontal backlift, keeping his hands close to the body and prioritising placement over power. Even as he grew more assertive against the spinners, the …

The internal rewiring of a grand old party: Congress focuses on DCCs for revival

The internal rewiring of a grand old party: Congress focuses on DCCs for revival

Khilesh Dewangan, a 40-year-old Congress leader in Chhattisgarh, knows the odds are stacked against him. Yet, there is confidence in his stride as he submits his credentials to be appointed as the party’s Raipur Rural district president. He believes the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (SSA), which translates as organisation re-creation campaign – the Congress’s new experiment in leadership selection – gives workers like him a rare chance to break through entrenched hierarchies. “In the normal course of things, my age and relative stature would have gone against me,” Dewangan admits with a smile. An appointment process that sits neatly between “the usual nominations” and a full-fledged organisational election, the SSA involves neutral observers from other States shortlisting six potential contenders for the post of District Congress Committee (DCC) president. The 850 DCC presidents have become the focal point of the party’s revival programme. Under the DCCs, there are three other tiers: block-, mandal-, and booth-level leadership. The SSA was adopted in April at the Ahmedabad session of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), a central decision-making body …
