Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan’s recent remarks about paparazzi culture have led to widespread outrage. She commented on their outfit, education and background, questioning how can they represent them. The parliamentarian also said she has deep respect for media as she is herself a journalist’s daughter. On Monday, filmmaker and president of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association, Ashoke Pandit, called Jaya Bachchan a ‘snob’ for ‘downright classist remarks’ about another profession. Ashoke took to his Instagram handle and criticised Jaya for her comments against the paparazzi culture. “Jaya Bachchan ji’s statement against the paparazzi reeks of snobbish elitism.
