Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s wife and noted Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly has lodged a complaint with Kolkata Police, alleging that she has been subjected to obscene and body-shaming comments on social media. Dona approached the Thakurpukur police station on Wednesday night to file the complaint. The police have registered a formal case against unknown persons. She has alleged that a Facebook account has been repeatedly posting objectionable comments targeting her. According to the complaint, a Facebook page has been continuously uploading obscene remarks about her following her performance at the Kolkata International Film Festival. Dona and her troupe had performed at the KIFF inauguration on a song composed and written by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Kolkata Police said they have received the complaint and that the Cyber Cell is investigating the matter.
