Hyderabad emerges as GCC powerhouse, attracts 197 Global Capability Centres since 2024
Hyderabad has consolidated its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with more than 197 multinational companies choosing Telangana to establish or expand their GCC operations since the Congress government assumed office under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The momentum has been particularly strong in 2026, with 43 new GCCs already announced or operational in the first six months of the year. This follows the establishment of over 70 GCCs in 2024 and 84 centres in 2025, putting Hyderabad on course to cross the 100-mark in 2026. According to the NASSCOM GCC Landscape Report 2026, Hyderabad has emerged as the country’s leading destination for new Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) GCCs, attracting more than 50% of all new BFSI Global Capability Centres established in India. Unlike conventional IT firms that provide outsourced software services to clients, GCCs are wholly owned technology and innovation centres established by multinational corporations to support their global operations, research, product development and business functions.
