‘Can track my phone, but not killers?’: Germany’s Merz slams cops after pride terror attack | Watch

Published on Jul 27, 2026 08:56 pm IST German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has vowed a determined response after the deadly Berlin terror attack, calling it an assault on Germany’s freedom and open society. Merz questioned how a suspect reportedly under surveillance was able to reach the attack site undetected, demanding answers from security authorities. He also raised concerns over Germany’s ability to monitor high-risk threats, comparing it to everyday device tracking technology. While ruling out rushed decisions, Merz said the government would carefully examine legal and security measures to prevent similar attacks, while reaffirming support for the victims, their families, and emergency responders.   Home / Videos / ‘Can track my phone, but not killers?’: Germany’s Merz slams cops after pride terror attack | Watch Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here. FIFA explains why Germany’s second goal vs Paraguay was ruled out

FIFA explains why Germany’s second goal vs Paraguay was ruled out

3 min readJul 1, 2026 06:19 PM IST With controversy brewing over the cancellation of Germany’s second goal vs Paraguay in the Round of 32 match which might have been a potential winner, FIFA have now come out and explained the referee’s decision tp chalk off the strike. On Monday with the scores tied at 1-1, German defender Jonathan Tah’s headed goal in extra time was ruled out after a VAR review for a foul on Paraguay keeper Orlando Gill. Replays showed Germany’s Waldemar Anton push Gill to the ground, but the minimal contact led to criticism of the decision. Germany would ultimately go on to lose the match by penalty shoot-out, eliminating them from the tournament. “Although keeping a position is not a foul per se, when an attacking player is not interested in the ball and deliberately moves, even marginally, with the clear intention of obstructing opponents’ movement and prevents him from defending, then referees, and VAR when needed, should carefully analyze the incident and intervene. This is especially the case when the …

Deniz Undav: From machine operator at factory to Germany’s World Cup hero | Football News

For a man who’s always been made to wait a long time for his chances, Deniz Undav has perfected the act of seizing them with both hands when they arrive. Like on Saturday, when Julian Nagelsmann sent him on as a substitute in a desperate roll of the dice in the 60th minute of their FIFA World Cup game against Ivory Coast. It took him just eight minutes to score Germany’s equaliser. And then, score their winner in the 94th minute in one of his best nights in Germany colours. It’s a remarkable Cinderella story for a man, who, at the age of 14 was rejected by Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for being “too small” and then, by 17, was working eight-hour-long shifts in a factory as a machine operator to supplement his income of £120 per week as a semi-professional footballer in the German fourth-tier. Those days at TSV Havelse, a club in Hanover, as a 17-year-old shaped Undav. “When they told me at Bremen that I didn’t have a future with them because …

Germany’s World Cup winners voice security concerns over 2026 showpiece | Football News

2 min readUpdated: Mar 18, 2026 01:04 PM IST Joachim Low and Rainer Bonhof, who have both been part of FIFA World Cup-winning campaigns for Germany as manager and player respectively, expressed their concerns over security ahead of the 2026 tournament. The World Cup this year will be hosted jointly by the United States of America, Mexico and Canada. The USA is engaged in a war in Iran along with Israel while Mexico has reeled under a wave of violence following the country’s army’s killing of cartel chief Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho,” last month. “We had debates before the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and calls for a boycott before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. But playing in a country that is actively at war is even more dangerous,” Low told the Cologne Express newspaper in comments published Tuesday. “The political situation completely overshadows the tournament,” said the 66-year-old, who had led Germany to victory on 2014 World Cup. Low had coached Germany for 15 years between 2006 and 2021, the longest …

How Travis Head’s blistering knock spoiled a fan from Germany’s plans who travelled to Perth to watch Ashes cricket with his father | Cricket News

Travis Head’s 83-ball 123 will stand as one of the iconic centuries, not just in the Ashes but overall in Test cricket too. It was not just the strike rate the cicumstances under which the knock was delivered. On a pitch that was seaming around and in a position that Head (Opening) has not played too often in his Test career. But against all the odds, Head for once came into the white-ball mode against the red-ball, unleashing the carnage, bazballing the bazballers to help Australia take a 1-0 lead. His innings might have left a smile on the faces of many Aussie supporters; a couple of them were with a bittersweet emotion at the end of it. One of them was a certain fan called Alex Earle, who is based in Germany, who traveled all the way to Perth to watch Day 3’s action with his father, Bruce, who is a first-grade cricketer based in Sydney had to alter plans for Sunday. The duo got into the pub minutes away from the Optus Stadium …
