Google is expected to unveil its Pixel 10 series later this year with its next-generation SoC — Tensor G5. The new chipset is said to be being developed in partnership with TSMC. As we wait for the arrival of new generation Pixel phones with the new custom-built chip, a report coming out of China suggests that Google will continue its partnership with TSMC for a couple of years. It is said to use the TSMC chipset until at least through the Pixel 14 series in 2029. Google’s Pixel 10 series of devices is indeed turning out to be an interesting one. Google started off the year with the Pixel 9a that was unveiled with a redesign. The Pixel 9a got its own identity when everyone expected it to appear similar to the Pixel 9 launched last year. Now, reports suggest that changes are coming to the Pixel 10 series as well, with the Pixel 10 set to receive an extra camera. This could indeed improve the sales of the non-Pro Pixel series, which off late don’t seem to offer enough value over the A-series models. A recent report by Android Headlines and OnLeaks, suggested that the Pixel 10 will offer not two, but three rear-facing cameras. Google’s Pixel 10 series launch is still a long time away, but there’s already a lot of buzz surrounding the chipset and camera features of the Pixel 9 successors. Most recently, the upcoming Pixel smartphones have allegedly popped up in the GSMA database suggesting their model numbers. The listing reveals four models, similar to the current Pixel 9 series. The listing suggests two model numbers each for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. GSMA Listing Reveals Four Pixel 10 Models Smartprix reportedly spotted the Pixel 10 family on the GSMA database with model numbers. Like the Pixel 9 series, the new lineup is said to include four devices — Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Google Pixel 10 may get its chipset manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), according to a report. Although the smartphone isn’t slated to launch until late 2025, there have been reports that Google may stop using Samsung’s foundry post Pixel 9 and the Tensor G4. It is now being speculated that the company has already started manufacturing the sample units of the chip in order to get its making process up and running – even though the launch is more than a year away. Google Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 Chip: Details According to an Android Authority report, the chip was allegedly spotted in the shipping manifest of publicly available databases. Previous reports have suggested that the chip is codenamed “Laguna Beach”, the reference of which can be found in the database. It then goes on to mention the chip revision – “A0”, which is reportedly the first iteration of the Tensor G5, meaning further revisions will most likely take place before it is ready to power the Pixel 10 series.
