Air India finds no issue with Boeing fuel switch after grounding| India News

Air India has completed inspections of fuel control switches on its 33 Boeing 787 jets, the private carrier said Wednesday, days after grounding a flight over a possible defect. Air India said in a statement on Wednesday that the national civil aviation regulator had conducted “independent inspections” of its own. (@DGCAIndia) The airline grounded a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on Monday after one of the pilots reported a possible defect in the fuel control switch. But in its inspections, the airline said “no issues were identified”. The checks came as Indian authorities investigate the crash last year of a 787 Dreamliner operated by Air India that killed 260 people shortly after takeoff. Air India said in a statement on Wednesday that the national civil aviation regulator had conducted “independent inspections” of its own into the fuel control switch, “subsequently clearing” it. “The safety of our passengers and crew remains Air India’s highest priority,” said the carrier, which is owned by the Tata Group conglomerate. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said on Tuesday that incorrect handling …

Why khichdi became New Year’s comfort food: Dietician explains why it featured among the most ordered meal on food apps | Health and Wellness News

Written by Simrat Kathuria On a night known for big meals, feasting, lavish alcohol and indulgence, there was still something quietly surprising that took place this New Year’s Eve: Khichdi was one among the most ordered comfort foods on food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy. Khichdi equals emotional safety. It is a very much a familiar spot, easy to get rid of by the body, and is very closely associated with care, that is, the type of food we take when we are sick, tired or just need some comforting. A year characterised by fatigue, digital overloading and mental exhaustion has unconsciously led people to prefer grounding and not stimulating foods. Today, comfort less comes from excess but rather from reassurance. In terms of nutrition, khichdi is almost perfectly balanced. Rice and lentils together give a complete protein profile, slowly releasing carbohydrates and essential micronutrients like iron, magnesium, and B vitamins. The mixing of ghee, cumin, ginger, turmeric and asafoetida not only facilitates the process of digestion but also makes it more so by …

Prolonged grounding of the Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) calls for tough decisions – here’s why | Explained News

Prolonged grounding of the Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) calls for tough decisions – here’s why | Explained News

The military’s entire fleet of Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) will not fly for another three months, it is reported. The ALHs were grounded in January after an Indian Coast Guard chopper crashed in Porbandar during a training sortie, killing all three persons on board. In September 2024, another Coast Guard ALH Mark-III had crashed during a medical evacuation mission off the Porbandar coast, claiming another three lives. Why are there repeated concerns over this indigenous military helicopter? A prominent red flag in the operational exploitation of any flying machine is an “aircraft on ground” (AOG) event. It denotes the grounding of the aircraft due to non-availability of an essential spare or rotable and will demand the highest priority at every level to liquidate. Repeated AOG occurrences and/ or inordinate delay in liquidating AOG can be indicative of a poorly developed op-logistic chain, flawed contract, or a product that is yet to mature. Google Gemini API, AI Studio Gets a ‘Grounding with Google Search’ Feature for Developers

Google is adding a new feature to the Gemini application programming interface (API) and AI Studio to help developers ground the responses generated by artificial intelligence. Announced on Thursday, the feature dubbed Grounding with Google Search will allow developers to check the AI-generated responses against similar information available on the Internet. This way developers will be able to further fine-tune their AI apps and offer their users more accurate and up-to-date information. Google highlighted that such grounding methods are important for prompts that generate real-time information from the web. Google Releases ‘Grounding With Google Search’ Feature Google AI for Developers support page detailed the new feature which will be available on both the Gemini API as well as the Google AI Studio. Both of these tools are largely used by developers who are building mobile and desktop apps with AI capabilities. However, generating responses from AI models can often result in hallucinations, which can negatively impact the credibility of the apps. The problem can be even more significant when the app delves into topics of …
