The ‘best of two exam’ initiative to “reduce the dropout ratio of students” is expected to benefit over 2.11 lakh students of Class X and XII, underlined the state government in Gujarat on Wednesday. “This decision of the state government will reduce the dropout ratio in the state. The students who have failed in the exams or could not get good results the first time for any reason will get a second golden chance through the ‘best of two exam’,” an official release issued by the state government Wednesday stated. In October, in a major relief to Class X and XII students, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) had issued the notification to allow all students the ‘best of two’ option across all streams. GSEB SSC Result 2024: With a jump of nearly 18 per cent from March 2023, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) today declared the Class 10 results. The overall pass percentage is recorded at 82.56 per cent. Last year, it was 64.62 per cent. Out of the 6,99,598 regular students who appeared in the Class 10 exams conducted by the GSHSEB from March 11 to 22 at 981 centres across the state, as many as 5,77,556 students have qualified for the secondary school certificate exams. Girls outshone boys with a pass percentage of 86.69 as compared to 79.12 per cent of their male counterparts who could clear the secondary certificate examination in the state. Against 6,111 students last year, as many as 23,247 students have obtained the A1 grade and 78,893 students have scored A2 grades. Results of 400 students suspected of copying have been kept reserved by the board which will be declared after a personal hearing, the board said while announcing the GSEB result. In view of the Lok Sabha election on May 7 in Gujarat, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has rescheduled the summer vacations for all its affiliated schools in the state. The earlier announced dates of summer vacation as per the academic calender 2023-24 was from May 6 till June 9. This has been revised to May 9 till June 12. All district education officers in the state have been issued directions to communicate the same in all affiliated schools. As per the officials, the changes have been made owing to deployment of teachers in various election duties for the General election across the state. Source link

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the exam dates for the Class 10 and 12 exams 2024.  As per the GSEB statement, Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Class 10 exams and Class 12 Science Stream and General Stream and Vocational , Sanskrit Medium will be held from 11 March 2024 to 26 April 2024.
