2 min readUpdated: May 29, 2026 11:18 PM IST Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill on Friday scored his fifth century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2. GT are chasing a target of 215 and a majority of Gill’s innings came in a mammoth 167-run opening stand between him and Sudharsan. The stand ended only when Sudharsan, extraordinarily, fell hit wicket for a second consecutive time. Gill got there with his 15th four of the innings. The GT captain also hit three sixes on his way to the century. The 26-year-old didn’t last too long after that, falling LBW to Jofra Archer in the next over on 104 off 53 balls. GT VS RR, IPL QUALIFIER 2 | FOLLOW LIVE GT’s innings started with Sudharsan taking down Archer, whose exploits have been crucial to RR’s cause particularly in the latter stages of the season. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi proves he is not just a six-hitter

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi proves he is not just a six-hitter

It was a night where 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi showed he has a different side to his batting. So far this season, all of his knocks have been breathtaking, providing edge-of-the-seat entertainment. On Friday, in the Qualifier II against the Gujarat Titans, on a two-paced pitch at Chandigarh, he had plenty going against him. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals at the other end. The bowlers were not giving him room to free his arms. The sixes, which seemed to arrive as and when he intended, didn’t arrive that easily. He was made to earn them, and Sooryavanshi took the challenge head-on. When he was dismissed for 96 runs from 47 balls, he had made an impact once again, despite reaching a half-century in 31 deliveries. Before Sooryavanshi could hit his first six off the 14th delivery, Rajasthan Royals were already in trouble. Mohammed Siraj took out Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first over. Kagiso Rabada then ended Dhruv Jurel’s stay in the second over. Gujarat were doing what they have been doing all season – break …

Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals Predicted XI, Full Squad, Captain & Players List

GT vs RR IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 Playing 11, Squad, Captain & Players List Today Match Updates: Reeling from a one-sided defeat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL Qualifier, Gujarat Titans will lock horns with a confident Rajasthan Royals who trounced Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator. With the prodigal Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in blistering form and GT bowlers far from their best in the match against RCB, Shubman Gill and Co will probably look to make at least one change. That could come in the form of Arshad Khan being reinstated in the starting lineup in place of Kulwant Khejroliya, who inexplicably got the nod in the match against RCB despite not playing a single match in the group stage. As for Rajasthan, they are unlikely to tinker with their lineup and will go full steam ahead in the bid to book their place in the IPL final against Bengaluru on Sunday. GT vs RR IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 Match: Gujarat Titans face the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 of the 2026 Indian Premier League in New Chandigarh on Friday, with a place in the final up for grabs for the winner of the match. The match comes just a couple of days after RR’s stunning win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator which was dominated by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s astonishing innings. Sooryavanshi smashed 97 runs in 29 balls, thus missing out on Chris Gayle’s record for fastest IPL century by just three runs. He however did go past the West Indies’ legend’s record for most sixes in an IPL season over the course of that knock, having hit as many as 12 maximums over the course of the innings. His onslaught was so brutal that RR ended up setting a target close to 250 despite being slowed down to almost a half by SRH in the last five overs of their innings. GT have an arguably more formidable bowling lineup overall than SRH but they will be wary …

Why Mohammed Siraj celebrated Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s wicket so fiercely: Wonderkid now new nightmare of elite bowlers

Why Mohammed Siraj celebrated Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s wicket so fiercely: Wonderkid now new nightmare of elite bowlers

Mohammed Siraj’s roar after dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in Jaipur did not arrive in isolation. It came after the Gujarat Titans fast bowler had been taken on by the Rajasthan Royals opener, who struck him early, forced a tactical reset, and made the wicket feel larger than a routine powerplay breakthrough. Siraj’s reaction was loud, animated and loaded with release. Kyle Jamieson and Mohammed Siraj after taking the wicket of Vaibhav Sooryvanshi. (X images) A few days earlier, Kyle Jamieson had produced a similarly sharp response after removing the same batter. Jamieson’s send-off drew official attention, with the Delhi Capitals pacer receiving a warning and one demerit point. Two senior international fast bowlers reacting that strongly to a 15-year-old batter has created one of the more revealing subplots of IPL 2026. Why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s wicket has become a pressure-release moment The easy way to read the Mohammed Siraj and Jamieson reactions is to frame them around Vaibhav’s age. That reading misses the cricket. Bowlers are celebrating him with that intensity because he is already making them …

‘Pahunchna easy hai’: How Ravi Bishnoi went from the tapri outside SMS Stadium to four wickets at Ahmedabad | Cricket News

‘Pahunchna easy hai’: How Ravi Bishnoi went from the tapri outside SMS Stadium to four wickets at Ahmedabad | Cricket News

The surprise doesn’t lie in his whippy sliders and googlies or the occasional legbreak. It’s in the angles and in the pace. Strip away the deceptions Ravi Bishnoi layers around his bowling and the deliveries themselves are fairly simple — they usually slide in skidding, or break in with bounce. But he applies the twist all around them. First in the way he approaches the crease. He breaks to his left, then zig-zags back to his right, then hustles through briskly. Like a young boy running in angles to evade adults trying to hold him — to take back the mango he has stolen from the tree. And then the batsman has to take stock of the pace and the bounce. It was the eleventh over of the chase for Gujarat Titans when Bishnoi came on. Sai Sudharsan went immediately — went for the pull, but the line was away from him. He ended up dragging and miscuing it. In his next over, two more. Glenn Phillips fell off the first ball of the thirteenth, …

Siraj’s ‘off day’, Washington Sundar’s failed attack on Ravi Bishnoi and a run out: Matthew Hayden on how GT lost IPL 2026 thriller to RR | Cricket News

4 min readApr 5, 2026 10:14 AM IST At 107/2 in the 11th over, the Gujarat Titans looked the favourites to win their first match of IPL 2026 against the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Yet, a combination of a lack of runs from the middle-order and excellent death-over bowling from the visitors meant that they lost by six runs, suffering their second defeat of the tournament. GT batting coach Matthew Hayden felt the hosts had the game in their grasp, but losing a flurry of quick wickets proved to be the turning point. “I think we lost four for ten in that period. The game was absolutely in the bag. Washi Sundar had a pretty big decision to make at that point around if you’re going to attack someone like Bishnoi, who was on a roll, especially after the dismissal. That was maybe a choice that he can look at and will look at as well in terms of just trying to be a little bit more cohesive in our run chases, …

Ravi Bishnoi explains where Rajasthan Royals won their IPL 2026 thriller against Gujarat Titans: ‘That made the difference between the two sides’ | Cricket News

3 min readApr 5, 2026 09:57 AM IST The Gujarat Titans batting unit comprises of more than one left-hander, and under such circumstances, it can become challenging for a leg-spinner to not just get wickets, but also control the flow of boundaries. Yet, Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, through a combination of skill and guile, managed to deliver one of the best spells of his IPL career, taking 4/41 in his four overs to help the visitors win by six runs. Despite his Player of the Match exploits, however, Bishnoi praised the pace trio of Sandeep Sharma, Jofra Archer and Tushar Deshpande for the way they executed with the ball in the death overs, admittng that, along with his performance, that proved to be the difference between victory and defeat in the end. “Sandy bhai (Sandeep Sharma) is a fabulous bowler, as we all know. But the way Jofra Archer and Tushar Deshpande executed their plans, I felt their execution was better in the last two overs. That made the difference between the two sides, …
