GATE 2026 admit card release date: IIT Guwahati will be conducting the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Scheduled for next month between 7 and 14 February, GATE exam scores are used for MTech, MS, and PhD admissions. Initially, the admit card was supposed to release on 2 January but its release date was postponed due to unexplained reasons. As per media reports, it is expected that the hall ticket will be issued on 7 January at the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. “The release date of the GATE 2026 admit card has been postponed. The revised release date will be announced soon,” the website states. The examination schedule for 32 subjects has been released. The GATE 2026 exam will be held across India in 200 cities in two shifts. Once the admit card link is activated, candidates will be able to download their GATE 2026 exam hall ticket using their enrolment ID and password. IIT Guwahati’s Steps To Check Student Suicides: Health Checkups, Counselling

Representational Image Guwahati: Days after massive protests erupted over the alleged student suicide, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on Friday announced several initiatives to address the issue. IIT Guwahati, which has seen four student suicides this year, said it has conducted a thorough investigation into each of these cases and has identified several factors contributing to these tragic events. The Institute, where a third-year Computer Science student allegedly died by suicide this month, announced that a one-time medical checkup will be mandatory at the time of admission. “While many of these incidents were non-academic in nature, they underscore the urgent need for enhanced support systems and preventative measures to safeguard the well-being of our students,” the Institute said in a statement. To address these concerns, IIT Guwahati has implemented the following initiatives: Comprehensive Medical Checkups: Recognizing the importance of understanding students’ medical history, IIT Guwahati has introduced a mandatory one-time medical checkup at the time of admission. Guwahati has been announced as the host city of the BWF World Junior Championships in 2025, the Badminton World Federation announced on Tuesday. The Junior Worlds usually features a team event first, followed by individual events across the five categories, and the BWF said that both will be held at the Badminton Association of India’s (BAI) National Centre of Excellence in the northeastern region of India. The hosting rights were confirmed at the BWF Council meeting on April 28. The World Juniors were last held in India in Pune in 2008. India’s only gold medal in the junior major came that year when Saina Nehwal defeated Sayaka Sato to become world champion. The NCOE boasts 14 badminton courts, an international standard gymnasium and seating capacity of around 4,000 spectators. “The allotment of the BWF World Juniors to Guwahati is vindication of India’s growing reputation as a badminton powerhouse which can not only produce champion players but also host mega international events.
