Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday asserted that the power distribution companies were ready to efficiently handle 19000 MW demand this summer and directed officials and staff to remain alert till the end of Yasangi and summer. At a review meeting with officials in the Assembly here, Mr. Bhatti noted that with the Yasangi crop season and the impact of summer, electricity demand and consumption in the State are increasing significantly. He said power network is fully prepared to efficiently handle a demand of up to 19,000 MW. He noted that the highest power demand recorded on March 20 last year was 17,162 MW.
