Haris Rauf on MCG ghosts haunting Pakistan: ‘We’ve lost a couple of close matches here against India and also in the World Cup final’ | Cricket News

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) continues to haunt Pakistan as they lost the first ODI against Australia by two wickets on Monday. This wasn’t the first time Pakistan fell agonizingly short at the historic MCG. During the 2022 T20 World Cup, Pakistan lost to India after Virat Kohli’s heroics, where he hit two match-winning sixes off Haris Rauf’s penultimate over. Later, in the final at the same venue, Pakistan fell to England. Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf, who bowled impressively in the opening ODI by dismissing Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Glenn Maxwell to turn the tide in Pakistan’s favor, lamented the missed chances at the MCG. “We have memories on this ground that we remember. We’ve lost a couple of very close matches here against India and also in the World Cup final,” Rauf told reporters after the match. Nearly seven-foot tall pacer from Hyderabad Nishanth Saranu makes his Ranji Trophy debut, took up cricket to lose weight | Cricket News

Nearly seven-foot tall pacer from Hyderabad Nishanth Saranu makes his Ranji Trophy debut, took up cricket to lose weight | Cricket News

It isn’t surprising that the six-foot and nine-inch tall fast bowler Nishanth Saranu has made heads turn before his Ranji debut for Hyderabad against Gujarat on Friday. Last year, the 19-year-old from Hyderabad was a net bowler for the Pakistan team at the World Cup and caught the attention of the team’s bowling coach Morne Morkel, who is now with India. Earlier this year, when India were in Hyderabad for the Test match, Nishanth caught the eye of coach Rahul Dravid . In the last IPL, he rubbed shoulders with Jasprit Bumrah & Co at Mumbai Indians as a net bowler. For Nishanth life has been in ‘fast-forward’ mode. Till three years ago he didn’t even play proper cricket. And the only reason he picked up cricket in early 2021 was to shed kilos. “I was too chubby…and weighed 102kgs,” Nishanth tells The Indian Express. “I tried badminton and didn’t succeed. I even tried tennis, but it didn’t work out. So I took up cricket for recreation and afterthat everything happened so fast that even …

Wahab also justified recalling pacer Hasan Ali for the coming tour and said that he was already under consideration and basically he is a back up for Haris. “If Haris is fit and performs well in coming matches he is our first choice. He has started bowling but if he doesn’t come through we have Hasan Ali.” Haris got unfit during the initial stages …

“BCCI Showing Mayank Yadav Video Of Haris Rauf”: Pakistan Reporter’s Bizarre Comment Gets Criticised

Farid Khan, a sports journalist from Pakistan, has been on the receiving end of some fierce criticism from fans for his prediction on Indian tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav. In a viral video, Farid claimed that Mayank will play for India in the T20 World Cup and the team management is showing him videos of Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf in order to get him prepped for the game against Pakistan in New York on June 9. For the unversed, Mayank has been making waves since making his IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) last month. Despite playing just two games so far, Mayank has managed to win over former cricketers and experts with his searing pace. He bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2024, clocked at 156.7, during the game against RCB on Tuesday. In two matches, Mayank has picked up six wickets, conceding just 41 runs. The 21-year-old has been touted by many to play for India in the coming months. Speaking on Mayank, Farid claimed that former Pakistan bowling coach Morne Morkel, who …

Haris Rauf’s Central Contract May Be ‘Restored’ After Controversial Termination

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf‘s central contract may be “restored” after a review by the legal team of the country’s Board, an official source in the PCB said on Monday. Rauf’s central contract was terminated two days before the start of Pakistan Super League for refusing to play in the three-Test series against Australia that they lost 0-3 in January. An official source in the PCB said the legal team was reviewing Rauf’s appeal which seeks the restoration of his central contract. “There are chances that the appeal might be accepted, and his contract restored,” the source said. Rauf is currently ruled out of the PSL with a dislocated shoulder. He sustained the injury during the third match of the PSL while playing for Lahore Qalandars. After opting out of the Test series in Australia, Rauf went to play in the Big Bash around the same time. But the PCB still included him for the five-match T20I series in New Zealand as the pacer last played for his country in the fourth match of the series …
