Only days after he was named as the successor to Jos Buttler as England men’s white-ball cricket captain, Harry Brook has vowed that he will skip from all franchise league commitments for the near future. Brook, who was signed up by the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2025 season at Rs 6.25 Crore in the mega auction last November, pulled out of the T20 extravaganza following England’s Champions Trophy exit. Brook, who had also pulled out of last year’s IPL due to the passing of his grandmother, said he wanted to focus on his upcoming international commitments with England. The new BCCI rule also meant that Brook is banned from entering the IPL until 2027. “England is the way forward for me and franchise cricket can almost take a step back for a little while,” Brook told the BBC.
