Harsha Bhogle on Digvesh Rathi-Jitesh Sharma run out incident

Harsha Bhogle on Digvesh Rathi-Jitesh Sharma run out incident

The Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL) match between host Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday took an interesting turn yet marred by a bit of controversy when LSG bowler Digvesh Rathi tried to run out RCB stand-in-skipper Jitesh Sharma — who was taking the game away from LSG with his blinder — at the non-strikers’ end in the 17th over. Rathi’s appeal, however, was deemed not out after it was sent upstairs. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant also withdrew the appeal when asked by the on-field umpires, but the effect was already ruled out due to the MCC Law 38.3.1.2, which basically won’t allow the bowler to effect the run out after completing the action. While trying to inflict a run-out on the non-strikers’ end, what Rathi did was all under the cricketing rules. However, this didn’t stop voices from questioning the spirit of the game. Story continues below this ad Commentator Harsha Bhogle reiterated the same and said, “You play by the laws.” He took to X …

Harsha Bhogle Breaks Silence on IPL Commentary Ban at Eden Gardens

Harsha Bhogle has broken his silence and ended speculations on his IPL commentary ban during the IPL 2025 game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans on Monday. After the Cricket Association of Bengal insisted that he was only empanelled for two games in Kolkata, which are over. His clarification came a day after CAB’s letter to the BCCI, sent about 10 days ago by its secretary Naresh Ojha, was revealed in the media. In the letter, the body asked for the removal of Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull from the commentary panel for matches in Kolkata after they stated that the Eden Gardens pitch was not helping the local franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. “There are some inappropriate conclusions being drawn about why I wasn’t at yesterday’s game in Kolkata. Quite simply, it wasn’t on the list of matches I was down to do!” Bhogle posted on ‘X’. “Asking me would have resolved the issue. Rosters are done before the tournament starts. I was rostered for two games in Kolkata. I was there for the …

‘Red-Flagged’ Harsha Bhogle, Simon Doull Removed From IPL Commentary At Eden Gardens

‘Red-Flagged’ Harsha Bhogle, Simon Doull Removed From IPL Commentary At Eden Gardens

Taking a strong exception to pubic criticism of their curator by Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has red flagged the two cricket experts and requested the BCCI not to assign them commentary duty for Kolkata Knight Riders home matches. Bhogle and Doull got embroiled in the controversy when the former New Zealand cricketer opined that KKR should relocate their franchisee if the curator was not paying any heed to team’s request for spin-friendly tracks while Bhogle said the team should get the home advantage. This was during a panel discussion on a popular website after KKR lost two of their first three home games. Infuriated by their comments, CAB secretary Naresh Ojha wrote to the BCCI nearly 10 days ago, requesting the removal of Bhogle and Doull from the commentary panel for their home games. Interestingly, during Monday’s game between KKR and Gujarat Titans neither Bhogle nor Doull was on commentary duty. However, sources close to Bhogle said the renowned commentator was not slotted for any KKR …

Harsha Bhogle, Simon Doull Red-Flagged, BCCI Urged To No Let Duo Commentate At Eden Gardens: Report

Amid complaints against home pitch curators from the captains and coaches of several Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ban Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull from commentating on matches at the Eden Gardens. The request from CAB came after Doull and Bhogle suggested the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) move out of the city over the home curator’s lack of support in preparing pitches as per the franchise’s demands. As per a report in RevSportz, the state association has submitted a strongly worded letter to the BCCI, urging them to bar commentators Harsha Bhogle and/or Simon Doull from commentating on any of the matches at Eden Gardens in the ongoing IPL season. In a chat on Cricbuzz, Doull had suggested the Ajinkya Rahane-led franchise should find a new home ground if the lack of cooperation from the Eden Gardens curator continues. “If he’s (the curator) not taking heed of what the home team wants… I mean, they …

Harsha Bhogle’s Swipe At Airline

Harsha Bhogle’s Swipe At Airline

New Delhi: Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle on Sunday took a swipe at IndiGo over what he claimed was the airline’s “passenger last” and “rude” attitude. He said one day he might invite the airline staff to his house for dinner, but make them wait outside until the table is set. Mr Bhogle did not specify any reason for taking the swipe at the domestic carrier, but it appeared the cricket personality was complaining about having to wait for a flight despite its scheduled departure.  “One day I am going to invite people from IndiGo home for dinner and ask them to wait outside the door till the table is laid and the food is cooked. Always Indigo first, passenger Last,” Mr Bhogle said in a post on X.   One day I am going to invite people from @IndiGo6E home for dinner and ask them to wait outside the door till the table is laid and the food is cooked. #Rude.
