Fifteen-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his meteoric rise after being named in India’s 15-member squad for the 2026 Asian Games, where the defending champions will look to retain their men’s cricket gold medal in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The State Budget has allocated ₹20 crore to complete the construction work of the Government Medical College, Palakkad. While ₹10 crore has been set aside for the Kanjirapuzha irrigation project, ₹12 crore will be spent for the renovation of canals under the Chittur irrigation project. Though the Budget has approved 20 projects proposed by Pattambi MLA Mohammed Muhasin, budgetary allocation has been made only for some of them. Some of the projects in Pattambi that gained financial sanction were a building for the Sree Narayana Guru Open University (₹5 crore), the Manasamithra Mental Health and Wellness Research Centre (₹2 crore), a women’s skill innovation and entrepreneurship park (₹5 crore), Pattambi Town Hall cultural complex and MT theatre complex (₹30 crore), flyover bypass connecting Pattambi-Shoranur road with Perinthalmanna and Pallippuram roads (₹75 crore), and a check dam at Vilayur (₹20 crore).
