India produced one of its finest-ever days at the Commonwealth Games, collecting medals across boxing, athletics, para athletics and judo on Saturday, headlined by a record-breaking haul of seven boxing gold medals and Gulveer Singh’s historic distance-running double. The Indian boxing contingent rewrote history, finishing the Games with seven gold and three silver medals, making it the country’s most successful boxing campaign in Commonwealth Games history. The golden run began with Preeti Pawar (54kg), who outboxed Canada’s Scarlett Delgado to hand India its first boxing title of the day.
