MUMBAI: Two teenagers were killed in a hit-and-run accident in Nalasopara early Monday after an autorickshaw crashed into their motorcycle and fled the scene. According to police sub-inspector Deepak Kumbhar of Nalasopara police station, the autorickshaw, coming from Ghalanagar towards Nalasopara East railway station, was being driven at high speed and collided with the two-wheeler.The impact threw both teenagers onto the road, causing severe head injuries. Just two days after being honored with the prestigious Khel Ratna Award by the President of India, Manu’s maternal uncle, and grandmother lost their lives in a fatal crash on the Mahendergarh Bypass Road, as per PTI. The victims, Yudhveer Singh (Manu’s uncle) and Savitri Devi (her grandmother), were traveling on a scooter when a speeding Brezza car, coming from the wrong side of the road, struck them. The impact was so severe that both were thrown to the ground and died instantly. A day after a 28-year-old man died in a collision on Ring Road when an Audi car jumped the divider and crashed into his Ertiga, Delhi Police said on Sunday they arrested the man who drove the Audi during the incident. Surendra Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southwest, said, “After analysing approximately 50 CCTV cameras, a police team made a route and chased for around 60 km and arrested the accused.” The accused, Paras Pathaniya, 25, is a resident of Paschim Vihar and had fled the accident spot. The victim, Sukhjit, a resident of Hisar in Haryana, was travelling from Dhaula Kuan towards South Extension when the Audi, coming from the opposite direction, veered off course, crossed the divider and collided head-on with Sukhjit’s SUV around 6.30 am on Saturday. An ambulance rushed Sukhjit to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, but he was declared dead on arrival, said the police. A 38-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son was injured after being hit by a car in Ahmedabad, said police on Tuesday, adding that the accused driver is absconding. The incident took place between 7:30 pm and 8 pm in Gota area of Ahmedabad on Sunday evening when the family was out for an evening walk, said a police statement. According to police, 38-year-old Ranjitsinh Bhalgaria, with his wife Jivu and son Preetrajainh were walking along the New Science City Road. They were hit by a car near the Shukan Mall crossroads during which Bhalgaria’s wife and son were run over by the vehicle.
