How Much Does It Need To Beat The Hunger Games Film That Made Nearly 9x Its Budget?

Avatar: Fire And Ash Box Office (Photo Credit – Instagram) On the verge of completing two months in theaters, Avatar: Fire and Ash, as expected from a James Cameron film, continues to show strong theatrical legs. After collecting an impressive $3.4 million over the February 13-15 weekend, the movie added another $0.6 million on Monday (Presidents’ Day holiday), pushing its domestic total to $396.9 million. If the sci-fi threequel maintains this steady momentum, it has a realistic shot at crossing $400 million in North America during its run. Backed by a massive $1.064 billion international haul, Fire and Ash has now reached $1.460 billion worldwide, making it the third-highest-grossing film of 2025 globally, behind only Zootopia 2 ($1.830 billion) and Ne Zha 2 ($2.260 billion). However, in the domestic market, the Sam Worthington and Zoë Saldaña starrer currently ranks No. 4, trailing behind A Minecraft Movie, Lilo & Stitch, and Zootopia 2. As the film continues its theatrical run, Avatar 3 is not far behind the domestic total of a dystopian action movie, which earned nearly nine …

Kerala govt. medical college doctors stage Secretariat dharna, begin relay hunger stir

The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) staged a Secretariat dharna and began a relay indefinite fast on Tuesday (January 27, 2026) in protest against the alleged neglect shown to their long-pending demands related to pay revision arrears and rectification of anomalies in the entry-cadre pay revision. Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) doctors held a token boycott of out-patient (OP) services, non-emergency services, and teaching services. A relay hunger strike will also begin at Thiruvananthapuram MCH here from Wednesday (January 28, 2026). The KGMCTA had earlier deferred its agitation following discussions with the State government. It has been protesting since July 1 last year against the government decision to freeze salary revision arrears for doctors while releasing them for other State government staff. Government Order After multiple rounds of negotiations, the most recent one on January 12 this year, a government order that was issued subsequently proved to be disappointing for it provided only a partial allowance to compensate for the pay cut in the entry cadre, without retrospective effect or continuity into the …

After questions on Rohit Sharma’s ‘hunger’, India captain Shubman Gill defends opener for poor NZ series show | Cricket News

Rohit Sharma had a forgettable series during India’s 2-1 defeat to New Zealand over the past week, failing to convert his starts in each of the three outings. Coming into the series as the No. 1 batter in the ODI format after a superb run in Australia and against South Africa at home late last year, Rohit scored 26 and 24 in the first two games, falling to mistimed strokes. Soon-to-be 39, Rohit, on Sunday fell on 11 as India were chasing a daunting 338 against the Kiwis at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Suffering a top-order collapse, India were rolled over 296, losing the series with a 41-run defeat. India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate had recently stirred controversy after terming the senior India opener to be short on game time post the loss to the BlackCaps in the second ODI in Rajkot. “He’s definitely not the sort of guy to play for himself. It’s just a combination of the wickets being slightly difficult and maybe just being a little bit short on cricket …
